Exactly, how is this any different than YUBIKEY other than Google branding and their cloud AI collecting data?
That’s awesome but how many keys will we need all our media accounts? A key for Gmail yahoo and Outlook. What about LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter? This is just a small scale band-aid

how is it physical if it’s still plugging into your computer and sending some sort of signal into the computer? cant the signal just be mimicked somehow?

China has been using this for over a decade, they use a u盾 all the time for online banking authentication.
Does this work for multiple gmail accounts?
Isn’t this the same as using your trusted phone to unlock? My Pixel acts as a physical key.

Google anti government propaganda program?
You keep saying “it’s a code sent to your phone”, the text message one is, but the OTPs within “Authenticator” from google are not sent each time, they work just like a physical OTP token, they are codes that are worked out by a cryptographic algorithm on each end, googles server, and your phone, they are both encrypted with a 256-bit key. This method has been used for many many years and I’ve never heard of a time sensitive OTP ever being hacked…
