Apple Is Deliberately Slowing Down Your iPhone

Some clar­i­ty here giv­en some recent rev­e­la­tions… Apple claims the old bat­ter­ies are inca­pable of meet­ing peak per­for­mance demands over time. The choice to reduce per­for­mance is appar­ent­ly to avoid ran­dom device shut­downs. That said, why isn’t this issue affect­ing oth­er devices using sim­i­lar bat­tery tech? Are peo­ple using iPhone’s longer? Either way the argu­ment regard­ing lack of trans­paren­cy remains. Here’s the full state­ment from Apple,

Our goal is to deliv­er the best expe­ri­ence for cus­tomers, which includes over­all per­for­mance and pro­long­ing the life of their devices. Lithi­um-ion bat­ter­ies become less capa­ble of sup­ply­ing peak cur­rent demands when in cold con­di­tions, have a low bat­tery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unex­pect­ed­ly shut­ting down to pro­tect its elec­tron­ic components. 

Last year we released a fea­ture for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to smooth out the instan­ta­neous peaks only when need­ed to pre­vent the device from unex­pect­ed­ly shut­ting down dur­ing these con­di­tions. We’ve now extend­ed that fea­ture to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add sup­port for oth­er prod­ucts in the future.

New Iphone means new con­tract you pay more. When Iphone is out of con­tract you pay less! I real­ize some­thing was up when my Iphone’s apps would­n’t work after hav­ing the same Iphone for four years.

Wow, I final­ly get it. Basi­cal­ly, Apple is say­ing, if you want an iPhone, you HAVE to buy a new one, every 2 years.

How tf do peo­ple still sup­port a com­pa­ny that does this and charge peo­ple thou­sands of dol­lars to get a new phone by slow­ing down your phone?

3. Safe­ty Con­cerns: Depend­ing on the prod­uct, inter­mit­tent fail­ures can lead to safe­ty issues. For instance, if a car’s brake sys­tem were to inter­mit­tent­ly fail, it could lead to accidents.
4. Wast­ed Time and Effort: Con­sumers may have to spend sig­nif­i­cant time trou­bleshoot­ing or try­ing to repair a prod­uct that shouldn’t fail in the first place. This incon­ve­nience is not what they signed up for when mak­ing the purchase.

My iPhone 7 with lat­est update IS SLOWER than an iPhone 6 with fac­to­ry reset… I upgrad­ed my iPhone to a zfold5 AND I AM NEVER BUYING APPLE AGAIN.
