LG Display’s 88-inch 8K TV has some intense pixel density going on with a resolution that’s four times as much as a 4K TV. Tech editor Vlad Savov got a first look at the TV at CES 2018

Cant wait for it to not sell
Hiitsvladwiththeverge
My TV is 9k.
Shame they can’t make a decent phone tho…
MKBHD just found something to use for his 8k red dragon.
1:05
You won’t find pixels but you can definitely see the gross sharpening LG adds 🙁
Come on… I just got a 4k TV…
I think Sony’s 10.000 nit 8K HDR TV more impressive…
Time for The Verge to move to 4K video’s
Vlad is hot.
Nice but the pipe line to send that kind of content will need and upgrade in all infer structure faster everything
0:32 Um… actually, the 8k screen does NOT have super high pixel density. Just a lot more pixels. For example my desktop computer monitor that I am viewing this from is 20″ and 1920x1080. Which gives it 9216 pixels per square inch. An 8k (7680 × 4320) 88″ screen at 16:9 only has 7616.53 pixels per square inch. Laptops have an even higher pixel density.
Well that should fulfill my pretentious nerd correction quota for the day.
At least 10k for sure
О, Влад))
Путин, балалайка, медведь, водка!
I feel like 8k is all a marketing scheme like honestly we really reached our peak already as far as picture goes like how much better can it really get?
Next we can also watch the bacteria on people’s faces in TV, geesh!
ur a very chill and calm dude vlad.…. keep the ice flowing bro
Two things streaming in 8K would be near impossible. Also can the human eye see the difference between 4K and 8K?
overpriced and overrated
Add Apple’s TrueTone tech into it and a matte coating and you won’t be able to distinguish it from a picture.
Eyes-on not hands-on.
Media isn’t even up to 4k yet
There only just up to 2k lol
this is future
more than anything, I just wish I could watch this in 21:9.. so I didn’t feel like I wasted so much money on my ultra widescreen display.
Finally MKBHD can see his videos in 8k on a television
Tht 88 inch would look nice in my livingroom 👍
Thank you for not hyping it as the next big thing for 2018 like other sites.
ich habe gehört 2020 kommt 80 K , nöö . ja…ich warte auf 81K..ok
waiting for 12K next year lol
I want to see a macro shot of this 8k screen to see what he is talking about not seeing the pixels that close what would it look like then
We all will be in future after 2 years. Filled with hell lot of unimaginable devices.
Most in the world haven’t realised the aspiration of a 4k panel.
This is downright overkill and obviously sits in the niche territory.
But another overly impressive product from LG.
vladviwtheverge
This is extremely overkill on smaller TVs less than 85 or 88 inches
while watching GOT:
Wait, it that sweat pore blocked on Jon snow’s head ?…
Still not a real oled. It has white filter on the rgb colour.
Micro led or rgb oled please.
well it can fool a camera, it looks completely “real” when up close
32K soon
and iam watching it in 360p
5 years from now. They’ll be telling us 8k tv is rubbish and you need to get a 16k tv. blah blah blah
Amazing 100 percent
