Google Home bug crashing routers, but it’s fixable

I have same issue with my router. I have installed wifi extender/repeater in my sec­ond room that’s helped a lot. But clear­ly not per­fect yet. Def­i­nite­ly need soft­ware update from Google!

Yes, it’s inter­fer­ing with my router and it keeps say­ing there’s a glitch try lat­er. It won’t allow me to make any commands.

I have 3 Home Mini and only one keeps crash­ing. I have to dai­ly reset it. It’s in my kitchen.
How can I fix the prob­lem. HELP!

Yep.. it hap­pened to me. My Google Home and Home Mini crashed my router. Took many hours try­ing to fig­ure out what hap­pened. I even­tu­al­ly had to reset the router and re-do almost every Inter­net enabled item in my home, which was about 18 prod­ucts. Every­thing is work­ing now, thankfully.

This has just start­ed hap­pen­ing to my Net­gear r7000 since I added my fourth Google home. Oops

Here it is almost a year lat­er, I’m hav­ing the same prob­lem. Where is thy fix, oh, Great Google?

My one crash­es too

It’s been over a year since this video was post­ed and Google has­n’t done a damn thing to fix it! I only have the Chrome­cast and my router crash­es sev­er­al times every sin­gle day!!!! 

I live in Puer­to Rico and I was affect­ed by hur­ri­cane Maria. I got my elec­tric pow­er back on Decem­ber 24, 2017, 3 months and 4 days after the hur­ri­cane. I was hav­ing wifi issues then and thought it was relat­ed to the hur­ri­cane. Months went by, my inter­net got bet­ter but I it kept on crashing. 

I was blam­ing the com­pa­ny and was look­ing to switch com­pa­nies because I was fed up. Then I recent­ly found out it all has to do with the Chrome­cast, which makes a lot of sense because I remem­ber hav­ing the issues after the update. I was blam­ing the wrong com­pa­ny! Google has­n’t done a damn thing to fix it and it’s unac­cept­able that this is still an issue!

??? UM NO ITS NOT JUST THE VOICE CONTROL SETUPS! I GO TO USE GOOGLE SPEECH AND IT CRASHES MY ROUTER EVERYTIME AND I PAY 150$ FOR THE BEST INTERNET AROUND HERE. INTERNET PROVIDERS COULDN’T FIND A PROBLEM EXCEPT TO SWITCH ROUTERS…GUESS WHAT ITS STILL HAPPENING.

My router crashed because of google home mini. Wow they haven’t fixed this yet 🙃😑

When adding some wifi plugs to my set­up I had to update apps/firmware for my Har­mo­ny hub, then re-link the hub with Google Home. Sud­den­ly, every time I turn the TV on the wifi (Linksys WRT1900ACS) drops. Insur­rec­tion ensues with my teen boys! Now I’m on a mis­sion to find the “fix­able” part of this sit­u­a­tion. Thanks CNET for let­ting me know I’m not crazy.

I was hav­ing issues with my Linksys router back in June 2019. Reset my router a Cou­ple times, what a pain. Once I took away the Google homes, my Wi-Fi returned to nor­mal. Now I’m try­ing to get my Google homes replaced by google. They replace 2 but the oth­er 2 I have they are say­ing my router in the prob­lem. I have been deal­ing with this for 6 months and I have been calm about it but now they are try­ing to put the blame on some­one else. I prob­a­bly spent a total of 10hrs on the phone talk­ing to google-sup­port in the past 3 months 😡.

Hey guys. Any­one has had a fix yet to this? I saw some posts still men­tion­ing this issue. I am just research­ing Google home ver­sus alexa. I have a YouTube pre­mi­um sub­scrip­tion so I am inclined with Google home. But this has me worried.

I have a Orbi RBR50 and the lat­est Google hub that I have seems to crash my orbi satel­lite all the time… I have to rest the router and satel­lite 3 times a day.. My orbi are upgrad­ed to the lat­est… Any suggestions?
