Yes, I have the Huawei Mediapad M3 and it’s amazing! I use it to watch YouTube videos at work on my downtime and I actually use it as my cast device to my TV most of the time at home. It’s alot easier to control content I want to watch when I’m sitting down and relaxing at a table than to do it by fiddling around with a cell phone in my hand.
I use a galaxy note 10.1 inch 2014 edition. Appart from media consumption (yt, etc), i actually used it to write reports, make presentations and other stuff for college. I dont have a pc. This tablet im writing on, in tandem with a pendrive that has both micro and normal usb, has basically taken me through college.
Does it provide HDMI via Type‑C Adapter?
It’s not WaWei, it’s bloody HuaWei, as a professional learn the pronunciation correctly.
Media consumption and gaming are best on tablet
Now just waiting for razer to release razer android tablet
How much, my nexus 7 was 200 and still works beautifully.
I use tablets for reading books and whats best with android tabs is its flexibility to copy/paste any format and read in a snap. Plus i use it to watch videos and also the access to android apps in big screen. Only problem is android has optimized many apps for big screen which i a shame imo
I will consider it. I need a large screen android tablet with a stylus. I would go for Galaxy Tab S3 but it’s tiny.
I use it to read RSS Feeds and as a screen for flying my drone.
Been thinking getting back into a table, just for media watching and an occasional game.
And I would consider this tablet based on your review.
I uses iPad as my main smart device, replacing a smartphone. Why do you need a smartphone if you can have a tablet to play games, watch videos, do works such as typing, browsing the web, reading, and it also have social media. For calling and texting I can always use my Nokia feature phone, it’s better than a smartphone, long battery life, higher durability and smaller size.
I own a Mediapad M3 and I use it to play games, to read, to listen to music, to navigate and to consume any kind of media.
What about Netflix certification? Because all that screen estate is wasted without fullHD or even 4K Netflix and all other apps like HBO Go and Amazon Prime Video.
I use tablets everyday. Great devices. Use mine for writing papers and watching things like Netflix and YouTube
If i were to use a tablet it would need to have a good processor, to be 8 inches or smaller, to have android 7.0 or higher, and to have more than 32 gigs of storage.
For comics
I use my tablet. I have a Mediapad m3 that i recently purchased. I knew the m5 was coming, but I am still pleased with the overall performace of the device. I use it for most school work and video watching
I watch Netflix and Amazon Prime on an Android tablet. My Google Nexus 9 is on it’s last legs, so I am shopping around for a replacement. So far I only considered the Samsung products.
I use my Nvidia shield k1 at home for multimedia and social apps, I don’t touch my phone except for messages when I’m at home
my favorite tablet was Samsung tab s 8.4 and now it is changed to mediapad m5; since I am sick of 16/10 ratip tablets and Samsund changed this ratio to 4/3 and 8″ is moderate for me!!
Thanks Huawei and I am deadly follower of you for P20 plus.…
Anyone know how to crop-to-fit Youtube Videos on an Android tablet? On iPad it‘s a double tap. I can‘t find something similar to the recently added crop option on 18:9 displays for 16:10 or 4:3 Android tablets. I‘d really love to get rid of letterboxing.
Nursing my Nexus 7 like a fragile baby until something decent comes out.
No 3.5mm jack on a media tablet?!?!Does Huawei think that I will use their crummy $5USD buds to listen to movies?
Just stupid beyond belief, esp. when it is NOT a space-saving issue. There’s plent of space on a tablet for even two 3.5mm jacks AND a USB‑C.
What does Huawei think we should do on 12hour flights when we need to recharge AND listen at the same time?
Stupd, stupid, stupid. They deserve not to get good sales for these models.
Does it have a headphone jack and ether net capability?
They are doing the essential notch cutout to get a higher screen to body ratio advertise a higher diagonal higher resolution all with out increasing the phone body sizezm and to save money because part of that is blocked by the notch so it’s deceptive advertising but legal
It has nothing to do. With the sensors or copying the essential phone
It is all about the numbers marketing and taking the cheap cost cutting way out and that means no full interrupted screen and your video photos and apps will be cropped
And to a lesser degree the switch from 16/9 to 18/9+ achieves the same thing
Companies are deceptive and cheap big numbers are good for marketing and advertising
Never mind if those numbers are deceptive and untrue because they do not factor in the space lost by the notch or consider that consumers do not want video photo and apps blocked cropped and stretched but just like with the headphone jack and touch id deletion they don’t care what the customer want they want the numbers big and to save on production costs and call all of those that do not follow these trends as ancient behind the times or technically illiterate
I say boycott all phones with no headphone jack no SD card slot no full screen notch less display
No fingerprint scanner
I would say 18/9 and up also thanks lg, but that would leave no flagship standing
It’s like the automobile industry taking away the spare to save weight increase trunk space but leave you stranded with a can of fix a flat or sell you the spare that was free for $500 double dipping
Electric steering taking the feel away for maybe 1 mpg more this is the way businesses are run now customer needs come last numbers and profits come first
Have a great day
seems HD streaming not working (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m5/help/question-widewine-level-drm-streaming-t3766287), so forget about watching Netflix, Amazon or any other HD video on it.. seems also someone in a German forum said Huwaei support told “we working on it”.. so I was (Iam ?) very interested on this device, but seems it got rushed to market before prime time..
The 8.4 m5 would be the thing if it had a bigger battery
Is a random keyboard (from Amazon ) compatible with the M5 ? (NOT the Pro version)
Thanks
Does the small one have desktop mode too?
android authority i am going to buy a new tablet and the tablet that i am going to buy is going to ditch my laptop
