The real reason behind this meeting is because they didn’t want Facebook stocks to drop too much… lol
Every other word out of his mouth is “app.” What a vile beast.

IT IS A JOKE
Propaganda has always been there, in every corner of the world. In the past they were on posters, walls, radios, TVs, speeches. Now suddenly people are complaining, as if propaganda is something new, as if elections in the past have always been transparent and truthful. No, politics, anywhere on the world, was never transparent nor objective, and never will.
Congress clearly does not understand the digital age. What an embarrassment to the U.S.
Sounds like other companies (not only tech companies) would not “steal” customer’s info or tacitly manipulate customer’s minds. Just name one. As long as you buy/watch/play/use their products/services, your info/money/mind /time has been “influenced“or “manipulated” anyways.
If you are not paying for a product, you are the product. It’s really that simple. Government regulation of the internet and social media has been a growing concern for those of us who still believe in the freedom of speech. Using AI (artificial intelligence) to target and filter “hate speech” means that certain trigger words like guns, violence, rape, anything negative about the LGBTQ community or racism, Muslim/Islam, and snowflakes will be automatically filtered and deleted. After four hours, I can’t remember which Senator asked Zuckerberg “who decides what is or is not hate speech?” He avoided answering the question, and that is a problem. I don’t care if my opinion hurts someone’s feelings or isn’t PC. I do care, very strongly, about my right to express my opinion without censor. Pay close attention to the ones pushing for more government oversight and regulation of the internet and social media, instead of focusing on the data mining, collection and sale of your personal information. This is the perfect excuse for the Federal government to make yet another attempt to seize control of the internet, under the guise of “protecting Americans from interference by other countries.” Blaming another country or company for attempting to influence our opinion is ignorant excuse, and the practice isn’t limited to politics. How many people are influenced by ads from foreign car companies like Honda or Toyota? Like to drink Budweiser beer? Guess what, Anheuser-Busch is America’s top selling beer, with numerous ads, and they are a Brazilian-Belgian company. Purina pet food is now owned by a Swiss company called Nestle. Yes, that’s right…the same company that give us the Nestle Crunch bar isn’t American. Craving a Slurpee or Big Gulp in the summer, or need to just grab a gallon of milk on the way home from work? Most of us just hit 7‑Eleven instead of the grocery store because it is quick, convenient, and they are everywhere. They are also owned by a Japanese company. Instead of blaming a country or a company for running ads that influence your opinion, you should rethink your method of researching political candidates. The Washington Post ran an article on November 19, 2017 about the Trump-Russia collusion, and found that Russia also donated very generously to the Clinton Foundation, Bill Clinton himself for speaking engagements in Russia, and to Tony Podesta who is the Democratic lobbyist and brother of John Podesta…the chairman of Hilary Clinton’s campaign. Just follow the Russian money…it’s the worst kept secret in Washington.
I’d also love to know exactly how many people were truly shocked that Facebook, along with Google and YouTube, has been collecting and selling your personal information. If you were truly shocked, outraged, and surprised that a free social media website has been using you (the product) to pay the bills for their massive global company, you are either too young to understand basic economics or you are ignorant. Why are we here again?? Oh yeah, the Facebook data breach. How does a man who built a global social media empire from his college dorm room end up sitting in front of a Senate hearing? He is a scapegoat for the Democratic party and Hilary Clinton’s failed campaign. Zuckerberg repeatedly states that adding additional AI filters will help prevent incidents like this data collection debacle from happening in the future. Are we supposed to believe a highly experienced coder with only 25,000 employees (in a global corporation) hasn’t already been using massive amounts of AI to run Facebook? I don’t think he has outright lied in his responses, but he has deflected, repeating the same phrases many times, and doesn’t have any of the statistical information with him. Who does that?? The answer…someone who isn’t really worried about facing any legal ramifications. The protected scapegoat…
Delete facebook they are selling your personal info and making you open to identity theft
Poor Zucc
Talk about calling the kettle black. The government is only upset because they want everyone’s private information to themselves.
This sounds like a bunch of out of date Senators unfamiliar with technology getting a lesson in how the World Wide Web and social media work. How else do all these companies provide services? Ads, ads, ads!
Mark did lie. When you deactivate an account you can always reactive it by just logging back on. So if data is deleted when you deactivate it you shouldn’t be able to see your old data when you reactive. 🤔
Zuckerberg did a great job remaining humble throughout the 5 hours of questioning.
FIVE HOURS LONG 😮 OMG
Cutie
If people want to use facebook then they accept the conditons, if they care so much about privacy don’t use facebook.
He forgot the part about stealing the idea first.
What about the fact that you can just copy something off of facebook and share it without any reprocusions. Pictures lose their IP rights when they are copied from facebook. I remember making a t‑shirt from an online company that prints pictures, they called me to confirm that I had the right authorization to use the picture for the purpose of printing on this shirt. I only told them that I had acquired the picture from facebook. The person who called said she needed to check on something and then they printed the shirt. Good to know for any legal stuff, if you need free stuff take it from facebook.
If facebook does not sell information then how did they get rich and lose all that data. Seems like a peak-a-boo game. Whats the point of this shit. If I wanted to hear him lie for five hours, i guess. To think he might run for president. Lets help make that never happen…
chor nahi hai Facebook
trump 100% 2020 president more breakthrough for united states
I watched it already
How does this compare in 2018 to what he wrote in this new letter in 2024?
