What is that? I don’t use that 💩.
It’s a shame because an older Time Capsule was a really easy andcost-effective way to add a NAS to your network if you have a Mac. I picked mine up on ebay for 50 bucks
It would have sold if it was a dsl modem..who wants a router without a modem ?
Apple never tell everytime they discontinue a product.
Damn it all
People can hate all they want but the Apple routers were always ranked at the top for reliability.
“cnet router expert”
and the only thing this guy can say is “better features faster speeds”
wow no shit
I don’t really like Apple products but their routers are amazingly good. I own 3 of then around my house
There is no alternative for any Apple product. Just because no other Router or NAS would work as great and seamless with any other Apple product than an AirPort device or a Time Capsule.
Using Apple products in combination with other devices e.g MacBook and Samsung S9 is just lost potential!
I CAME FOR THE DONG AND LEFT UNHAPPY.
Had all three in the past. Thanks apple for putting out products and then stopping support.
I didn’t even know Apple had this.
Tim Cook prefers Apple to make TV shows that will forgotten in a few months. He has lost the plot.
What about AirPlay? I have used express to pipe audio thru my home. Is there an alternative other than an Apple TV
Well that sucks
They did this a couple of years ago why are you talking about this now?
Can not understand you the loud background sound is distracting. Keep talking I am going.
Routers are becoming more Enterprise Class. Apple is NOT an Enterprise Company… NEVER HAS BEEN, NEVER WILL BE.
There is no device like the time capsule out there, i bought mine like 6 years ago and it works flawlessly, it so functional that it bacame my local server in my business (design agency)
Three or four Apple Extreme routers would make for a serious mesh network for a home or even a small business.
nice Mobile News 24
About time!! Their routers suck.
Thank you, Dan! Greetings from India
Many years ago, the Harvard Business Review concluded that profitability correlates to market share. Apple can’t have very much market share, probably < 10%, Apple is a cell phone company that dabbles in computers. Routers are not important to their success, and can’t be very profitable considering the resources it consumes.
as a cable tech we always hated them things
Good. It’s stupid annoying to troubleshoot.
Apple has also dumped a lot of customers. Face ID no thank you. Notches no thank you.
the company that pushes for everything to be WIRELESS discontinues one of the most important wireless devices in your house…
I honestly didn’t know that Apple made these
Ubiquiti networks kicks Apple’s arse in routers.
This was discontinued for a few years now…smh
With this upsetting news I upgraded my 4th gen APE to a Google WiFi wireless router. So far so good…
I just bought AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express routers but haven’t hook them yet now new routers are coming new. Should I rid them? Sad
The most reliable, stable and clean looking user friendly routers are discontinued. Really sad.
My airport expresses used to be the best til I tried Plume. By FAR the best WiFi system I’ve had
Another management curse after decades ago post-Copeland era. Or, simply put, it is another era of terror in Apple. If not keeping up, the networking offering would certaintly fall behind. If the management simly looking into the return from product and stopping feeding the goose and care the customers no more. Why don’t simply do the real estate business. Or selling fishball from garbage meats.
The values of Apple are dying.
Poor sound quality and music mix. Hard to understand.
I guess because they no longer do any updates or they are mostly focusing on the new iphones thats already out.
Apple sucks now. What happened to them?
