#OLED #review #Yep
I rarely see a cnet tv review pop up that isn’t about an LG OLED. hmmmmmm.
Q9fn destroys this rubbish, I’ve had oled hdr really sucks on them.
OLED is a failed, flawed technology. You’re going to get permanent burn in a like plasma but a whole lot quicker. Look toward what samsung can do with QLED. OLED needs a second hardware revision. Until they can fix the burn in, avoid.
So if you watch a lot of news with the logos, etc., on screen this is not for you?
Just ordered a 55″ for $1649. So excited!!! Finally making the 4K jump.
Will it beat the Sony A1?
Getting my C8 soon, $2500 for the best TV is a great deal
“BURN IN” bendecho
Here its 1700 dollars or so
Where is this green light on the stand coming from?
Nope it’s not the best. Check the Panasonic fz950 !
if this is the best tv you have ever testet, Im guessing you havnt tested the AF8? 😉
Poor review if you don’t know the reason for the shape of the stand. To project the sound forward
never buy an LG TV the customer service really sucks 17 days after I bought mines I had dead pixels they came out to replace the panel they brought a broken panel tell me I have to wait a month before they get another one they suck
I just bought one from BuyDig as an OPEN box for 2,000! I will test and see if it’s not defective…man I’m hoping it’s just a TV someone turned back in because they had buyers remorse!!!
This video sucked
My oled got permanent burn in,I don’t know how this happened. We are not heavy users at home. Lesson learned.
What version of webOS does it have?
where do you get that light box near the kitchen?
How would this go being used 1/2 the time as a PC monitor? How well do the new anti burn in functions work?
CALL TO ORDER OLED65C8P!!!! $2297.00 603–267-0707!!!!
I have one of the last Samsung plasma made and I still find it hard for OLED’s to display a better pic is it just me? Especially when watching a BluRay
2:06 So chill
Got the C8. The black level is unbelievable, I can’t see the difference between the TV border and the black on screen. The picture quality is superb.
TY Katzmaier for another great review on CNET of this tv. In 2011 your review convinced me to buy a 50″ Panasonic Plasma ( 3D) tv. It is still going strong. I will NOT buy any 4K tv until they make it 3D capable.
Bro i seen many side by side videos between oleds and q9fn and q9fn beats most OLEDs because it has more realistic lighting than certain OLED because OLEDs look too dark in many scenes…but its def proven that Q9FN has better day time scenes like beach scenes and day time city shots than OLEDs but OLED is still king of the night and king of the best shadows and deepest blacks.…now with specifically the C8 side by side with the Q9FN there is absolutely no significance difference between the two tvs…i seen many videos and you are lieing to yourself if you say the LG c8 is wayyyy better than Q9 maybe in certain aspects like the HDR on LG and sony beat the Q9FN but the C8 is no way in hell a lot better than the Q9…plus do people even know the Q9 has the best color acuity on the entire tv market
OLED for movies. QLED for Gaming & Movies.
Don’t like the stand? Personally, I hate the “bird feet” stands on other LG models. Give me a more solid stand any day.
The reason for the scooped stand of this tv is that it redirects the sound from the downward firing speakers. Just ordered this tv so I can’t attest to sound quality but others have said this tv has some of the best sounding audio because of this.
I have a question about LG Oled for B8 & C8 as I’m planning to buy one. About the Automatic Brightness Limiter. As I understand this feature kicks in when there’s a very bright image on screen or even when there’s a big bright object shown on the screen and also when a scene change from dark to bright & vice versa.
My question is on the normal ABL, does the brightness change happens on what type of contents? Does this usually happens when your viewing a very bright image & when there’s a bright object on the screen? Does the ABL kicks in after a 60 seconds or a few minutes? Does it just dims the image a little bit without impacting your viewing experience which is my main concern. Thanks for your time! Looking forward to your reply.
Oleds will be a thing in the past jus like plasmas soon due to many many many complaints especially on the LG models…plus pixel by pixel samsungs high end qleds are catching up fast to oleds picture even tho oleds are king of the night while q8 and 9 and are king of the day meaning for like beach scenes day time city shots and also how oleds in day time scenes are dim in areas where those areas arent suppose to…plus everyone i know with oled said i was right.from beginning they see the picture deteriorating little by little and i know there is a option for this on oleds but if you spending that much money you shouldnt have to micromanage a tv that expensive…plus high end qleds not 7 or below but 8 or higher look jus as good as these high end oleds…plus samsung was first to create oleds back in 2003 and stopped because of the many defects it has and didnt want to get the 1000s of complaints i have read that LG is facing today
Didn’t mention what the stand is made of?
Lg Oleds are maybe King in blacks and colors but have some serious issues. Many sets have severe burn in, banding and strange color hues. For TV’s costing as much as Oleds that’s a pain.
Bought a 65C8PLA on the strength of this (and other) positive reviews.
It’s been an excellent TV but 5 years down the line is switching itself off every 20 or 30 minutes.
