Many of us are listening to headphones for several hours a day. Our ears may feel fine, but ear damage is slow and subtle…and irreversible. In this episode of Gadget Myth-Busting, Ashley Carman interviews doctors to find out if her music and podcasts are damaging her ears. She also goes around New York City testing different headphones to see which is the safest. Subscribe:

Iam Using Headphones And Ear buds With Low Sound Less Then 30%
But Iam Using Longer Time
Is it Effect My Hearing Or Not?
GODAMN blue meanies
if I may I have a question compare to 2 years I hear terribly now some high pitched noise or not even audible any more but I only went to a nightclub once in my whole life and sometime I used to get pain in my ears watching videos at a very low volume (between 6 and 25) is it normal ? I still put the volume the lowest I can but keep losing high pitch noise and im only 20
it’s already to late for me but do take care of your ears
Besides wearing ear plugs at concerts does anyone here in the comments or people at the verge have any suggestions or recommendations for headphones or ear buds to wear at concerts? Thank you
I have earphones on literally 24/7. Even while I sleep…
5 minutes of nothing, can be summed up as: only listen on reasonable volume levels
can you change from decibels to percentage volume?
I feel bad for Chainsaw Man cause he might get hearing loss in the future.
People who work in industries such as call centres, virtual medical scribes etc are at high risk. Also the cost of decent noise cancelling is high. Budget options are not very useful. What is your take on this?
It’s not just the sound! Those skullcandy headphones cause headaches because of how tight they are! 😂
I use headphones alot but i never have the sound that loud. But i have ringing in my ears. I have been slapped a few times directly on the ear i have ringing in. Could that be the cause
Hey duh blaring music will cause damage at an extreme level
Jokes on you I could care less I have had ringing in my ears randomly since I was 5 and i was told my ears are fine so-
turns volume up
All of you Who have ringing it can be other symptom like tense neck or jaw. Test it by clenching the jaw If it rings even more when doing it it more likely from jaw
How can you tolerate the giant cherries on your phone. That’s what I’m really wondering. 😂
Finally, I found an excuse for spending 350$ for ANC headphones.
Thx apple that shows db
I will be 50 this year. I started listening to headphones when I was 15 and have used them pretty much every day of my adult life. I have worn headphones pretty much constantly since 2005. I won’t say my hearing is perfect but it is good enough. It’s at least as good as my dad’s and he has never used headphones in his life.
But, it’s probably a case of YMMV. I’m sure it does have an impact but it probably has more of an impact on some people than it does others. Which is probably why I’m not deaf by now.
I’m perfectly fine actually! I have a sound decibel level limit on my iPad so I don’t ruin the next statistically 60 years of my life!😅
If you hate 📚 books.….oh man, you’re gonna hate reading captions for the rest of your life.
They say true , only sharp ear can listening on high volume frequency.
Can you give advice to outsider that use mixer with wrong frequency especially digital button.
I don’t listen more than 60–70 decibel with my headset at work …
Glad that i have the bose nc700 they are perfect when you are in a train.
it’s a good thing i have adhd because anything a bit too loud like talking without my brain vibrating my thoughts and distracting me but i love blasting tame impala so maybe i’m doing something wrong
Dangerous on high volumes …
Me : who doesn’t even listen music at 50 dB.
But there is a catch, i listen most bass rather than vocals, etc. I use 2 equalizer apps so that i can feel bass in my ear like ground shaking.
Yes , I only hear alot of bass.
Then what about that.
Can you make another video about bass listening?
BTW
I’m NEW SUBSCRIBER
i have always had tinnitus but i’ve only just started wearing headphones for à few months and i’m scared now lol
We all need to hear this.
It’s been 5 years and I still haven’t found a blender that’s as quiet as a dishwasher.
But, i love headbanging to the heart raising sound my headphone could do😢😊
I have a thing where I easily uncomfortable when my music gets slightly loud and I lower instinctively so I don’t think I should be worried
i have abused my ears really bad over the years. loud as it goes music, was field artillery in the army for 7 years. concerts. somehow have perfect hearing i was suprised
Do what I do , I cover my ears half way , protects my ears and also protects my face from sun on hot days
as a gamer 5 years after this video was released i will now go to listen to phonk 300% volume
I have really good sound suppression on mine, and when I take them off I notice the outside world is louder than the music+suppression.
