Seven months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, American and Japanese forces clashed over Midway Atoll, a dot of land in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The Battle of Midway tested intelligence and combat capabilities on both sides – while decidedly altering the outcome of World War II. #TheWorldWars

Tamon Yamaguchi, the commander of Hiryu, was not mentioned here. 🙁 He was the hero who ordered the immediate strike on US carriers but Nagumo hesitated, resulting in the destruction of three aircraft carriers. He then ordered the counterattack from Hiryu, resulting in the sinking of Yorktown. After that, he chose to go down with Hiryu…
the “americans” aka white ppl like usual
Oh yea the US beat them with bombs of devastation and destruction.
The host of this show looks like a combo of actor Steve Martin and CNN host Anderson Cooper😂
What happened to midway, yamamoto and kondo after nagumo got cooked?
Bullies go home.
Nice try infowars, nice try.
Left it here to come back
11:50 technically only one bomb hit akagi but ok
What is so amazing is the fact the video or film seen in this video of the air attack on Midway is not spliced out of some Hollywood movie or recording from another battle…Amazingly, it is the actual battle…Having de-coded the Japanese plans the American brass realized the potential historic consequences invovled and had one of Hollywood’s Film Makers (term used in those days) was shipped to Midway.…also amazingly is the fact he wasn’t killed although he was knocked down be 1–2 bomb strikes relatively close to the elevated building or area he was…he was hit with sharnel … cut up, bloodied and bruised but he kept filming…thank goodness the Japanese Marines never had an opportunity to make beach landings because all of the Americans would have been killed…I’m sure people watching this even years after being posted know what happened at Wake Island…The Hollywood Movie Maker was John Ford…and yes, color film had recently been created and was starting to be used…
Americans were lucky at Midway…it is simple as that.
Ok
2024
Watching this video sir
Salute us navy air forces
Tactical planning must be referred to the actual intelligence data.
First Mistake in this video:
Pearl Harbor was not a success for Japan.
Usa usa usa usa
The miracle of Midway. Crazy thing. The Japanese people didn’t learn how bad the battle was, and the lost of the carrier’s till much later
that’s a wonderful presentation
the inaccuracies are nuts
A Back Kick (also called Spinning Back Kick, Horse Kick, Donkey Kick, 뒤차기, Mule Kick, or dwi chagi) is performed by kicking backward, behind you, like a horse. The striking surface is the bottom of the foot, ideally the heel
If you could fly a drone in WW2, what battle would you record? I would have a hard time deciding between Midway, Iwo Jima, Kursk, and Seelow Heights.
My understanding was that Admiral Yamamoto’s intent in attacking Midway was to lure the US carriers out of Pearl Harbor and destroy them. That the capture of Midway was a secondary obective, not the primary one as this video suggests. Am I wrong?
you aren’t an veteran
your AI
Watching in September 2024, I assumed the narrator is AI. Was that available in 2018, when this was made?
Every thing that could go wrong for the Japanese, did go wrong… every thing that could go right for the Americans, did go right for them …
My favorite part about the Battle of Midway is just how crucial knowing what the Japanese fleet was going to do and where they were. I’d even argue the battle was won before it began. Instead of the battle being a test of military might vs. military might, the U.S. simply had to plan for the Japanese moves, almost like chess.
Four carriers sailing together 🤔
An inventory report . Really excellent ! For BOTH sides : How many of what equipment flying or sailing to where , when . Paints a picture in my mind .
