Arm recently announced three new designs: a new CPU core, the Cortex-A76; a new GPU, the Mali-G76; and a new video processor, the Mali-V76. All three components will play important roles in devices for 2019 — not only smartphones, but also Arm-based Windows 10 laptops.

So 4K HDR video recording? Count me in!
Whilst I believe that these are all good things, and there’s some amazing hardware coming out soon, I do feel, Gary, that you’ve drunk the cool-aid on the presentations a little. I’d be really surprised if, when it comes out, the hardware can match the numbers on release.
Will cortex A76 be equal to a11 custom cores?
How about the security issues? Is that now solved? Spectre and Meltdown and the new variants???🤔🤔🤔 Did ARM talk about that?
Oh yeah!
😱😱😍😭😭💓👍..
It will be interesting to see how the theoretical performance and battery enhancements translate to actual user experience.
What about Exynos 9820 can you explain this please.…
Hey Garry, thanks for explaining, i have some questions and some thought to share.
is Adreno from qualcomm is based on Mali ? or not because its always preform better then Exynos and Kirin in gpu
and if Samsung increased GPU cores can they compete with Adreno?
and regarding CPU its kinda weird that in s8 the exynos version preformed better and had better battery life, even tho that they under-clocked it to be similar to SD version but not in s9 the SD version preform better and have better battery life.
anyway using SD and exynos you can notice that SD is always more stable then exynos and Kirin is the worst always in stability and adopting new Arch (they are around 6 months late then Qualccom/samsung), next kirin will definitely be on A75 because kirin 970 was based on A73 (released end of 2017).
they are some leaks already that Manggose 4 will preform way better then A76, isn’t it a custom core based on A76 ?similar to kryo?
btw isn’t A55 outdated, shouldn’t they release a new version of it this year ?
How about releasing ubuntu based arm processor laptops
Professor!!! Sorry I’m late again !!!! Good morning professor!!!!! Hope I won’t be late for the calss next time !!!! You always ‘THE BEST ‘!!!!
Really interesting video as usual.
Double the performance is a generic statement many tech companies have done and failed to deliver because it’s almost impossible to deliver double the performance on ANY aspect. Also double the performance considering the almost non existant performance of available “always connected laptops” means nothing to me.
Awesome video, thank you!
“should be”
Andreno would beat mali no matter what
Didn’t he make his own channel for that shit
I think Linux would run better on ARM. Manufacturers should at least provide an option to change the OS.
Arm really needs to work on its mali gpu …
When will Smartphone SoC is gonna match desktop Cpu level performance.
You should do a video on Desktop Cpu vs Smartphone SoC
Comparing new snapdragon 850 or 855 with Intel’s any powerful CPU
The best part ->16 Full HD 60fps decoding.
I would like to see Linux Arm Laptops…
Will qualcom use g76 instead of adreno …?
I wanna know how is the Mali-V76 compared to Intel HD Graphics
Spectre? Meltdown? Tell us Gary, are they still an issue for this silicone?
Despite development is Windows oriented, Linux community would be very happy with this. I might buy one eventually.
apple would rather make a paper thin laptop than giving all day battery life
Liked your video .. a no nonsense very informative video
Galaxy s10 will be using this for sure. Great to see how far mobile has reached.
At least mali g76 will be better than adreno 630
Gary sims u r awesome ! I have subscibed this channel only to see ur videos! Keep making more such videos !
Technical Garyji
what is best sir adreno 660 vs mali G76 .…?????
sir Gary is very handsome.😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😍
Nice video good information 👍
After all those claims reality sees only a marginal improvement over the previous gen GPU and the Mate 20 pro is proof. That declares the Adreno 640 a clear winner even though devices are yet to be released with it.
Mali GPU improvement +2fps
Adreno GPU improvement +16fps
In 3 years Mali = 6fps
Adreno= 52fps
Why? Bcoz adreno bumped to a new 7xxx series!
I mean, this is cool… but who has 3 8K streams going on in their phones? This incredible power is just wasted. Smartphones need to transform to real computers with professional applications and AAA games running in a desktop like environment. On the go it is your smartphone, connect it to a laptop or desktop dock and its becoming a full PC. That would be great.
hol vehetek arm cortex 76 cpu ?
where can i get arm cortex 76 cpu?
A small confusion here for me
In India I got two phones poco f1 which is a beast at the price
And newer Redmi note 7 pro with a 48 mp camera at 3/4 of its price
The dilemma for me is that
845 is based on a75 and 675 is based on the a76 cores
Of which arm quotes 50% more performance and 30% less power draw
Now, Gary please suggest me what to do now
Anyone ever feel like all the arm processors are a bit confusing? For x86, it’s just amd and intel, and I can tell what’s best and worst, as well as what year it came out without searching a wiki page. I get completely lost on arm processors. I thought the processors had names like snapdragon, and a12, but apparently there is another level of naming. I wish the names and model numbers were all simplified so I can tell if it’s a budget processor, or high end, and what year it came out, all without doing internet searches. Sorry but Cortex ### and mali ### is just some numbers to me, with little meaning. From this video I mostly got that future mobile devices are going to start getting close to being competitive to regular computers/laptops all the while having better battery lives which is cool.
Thanks…
Current are A75, SD845
Great content and explanation as usual. I have a question Mr Gary. I hope you kindly could answer it. What does floating point computation means in the case of this: for example Snapdragon 821 has higher floating point computation than a faster, better and newer processor 730g. How does influence the performance? Thanks in advance if you answer it
