The BlackBerry Key2 smartphone is TCL Corporation’s latest BlackBerry-branded phone, complete with modern touches like Android 8.1, a dual camera system, updated keyboard, and USB‑C charging. But it’s only a passable smartphone.
Here’s a link to buy the BlackBerry Key2:

Do we still need a keyboard on a smartphone in 2018?
Uses a physical keyboard, says “it’s not tactile enough”… Jesus F** Christ. You know why it’s not tactile enough? Because you’re literally 12 years old and never HAD a keyboard on your phone until you got this thing.
P.S. F BlackBerry for making FOCUS BEFORE CAPTURE an option!
R.I.P BlackBerry
One or two is a big difference in days of usage?!
That white BlackBerry Pearl was my life.
This guys so cool, have him more often please!
Use the phone for just messaging and any android phone will last 2 days
Is it worth getting this phone with all the software updates coming to it ? I really want to upgrade to android and this is an option for me (I don’t use fb, or anything on main phone)
The verge, just liking good comments … hmm
Black presenter yeeeeeeeeeahhhhhhh!!
What’s the song being used in the background?
My HTC g1 is better.
Like 90% of these reviews or hands on videos, they are sharp video productions, with the caveat that they miss the point completely. The minute someone starts to compare or suggest a debate vs iPhone, Galaxy, or other heavy media/game focused smartphone…you should stop listening. This is a messaging and communication focused powerhouse. It’s also geared for people born in the 60s, 70s, and maybe 80s. The vast majority (and we know this) of smartphone users need a big bright sharp super his res screen with advanced or high end camera features. This is NOT the BlackBerry user. This is more of tool, not a toy. This is for action, not distraction. Nothing wrong with the latter. In fact most of the planet prefers it this way. If you need a smartphone that has a high end quality speakerphone, clear voice calling, and eats its way feverishly and easily through messaging and email, and the best battery life in the business that’s measured in days not hours, look no further than the Key2.
Does this work with Verizon?
Blackberry Passport with android apps was the neatest combo.
To be honest, keyboard is the only thing that will make blackberry survive…if they are just following the full touchscreen phone trend, they’d be dead in no time
You shouldve focused more on they keyboard and how it change the way you navigate and hold a phone.
For instance using your thumbs rather than index finger, reducing erroneous key input, typing without looking and so forth.
It makes a lot more of a difference than say the cpu specs or screen size compared with a regular slab.
I love my BlackBerry! It has everything I want! 🌹
Excuse me, it’s not the phone’s fault that you don’t type fast with its keyboard. For everyone who’s used the keyboard for a long time, it’s blazing fast and more efficient.
The best review from a real journalist. The YouTubers reviewing the Key 2 all sound the same.
He’s wearing his red anti-static bracelet that not grounded to anything.
Will it play Freecell?
The splitscreen and the fact that you can watch youtube videos while doing other things is phenomenal to me, if they combined those things with the samsung galaxy note 9, which has a terrabyte of storage, and also amazing camera, it would be perfect, this is why im with android and not apple
everything was going well. until he screwed himself with (over)confidence
Are you using that RED BAND that you have on your hand to reduce electrical interference, when reviewing a device?
so expensive… ;-(
My favorite BlackBerry device was the Q10. I actually still have it and recently updated it to the newest version of BB10.3.3, but it’s no longer my daily driver. I just got a Key2, which I love. Privacy features and capacitive keys are so cool — it’s just not BB OS 10, which I think was the best mobile OS of its day, and still could be if properly supported.
My favorite BlackBerry phone was the passport. I still have it by the way… i wish they make passport2 with an android OS on it…
does it come with a belt bracket?
I like the classic style. I’ll never use it, though
What an uninformed video review. Its like asking a fish to review a bike.
Some of his comments about the phone has to do wi being too young to have known what a BlackBerry is or how to use it. If time was spent learning the phones innovative possibilities he would not have made so many mistakes in his review. This type of review is expected from the Millennials at the Verge. Not disappointed cause we only what to expect from this site.
I just brought a Passport. Need more app support. I loved the z10. I got used to an iPhone and hate my Galaxy S9 except for YT studio app. That app is better on the Android than on the iPhone. I still won’t buy this. I will live with the limitations on the Passport and whip out the iPhone when I need something else.
“I can still type faster on mechanical keyboards.” Who knew you’d be able to type faster on a full sized mechanical keyboard. That’s like buying a Vespa and saying you still find your Porsche is faster. I don’t know why these types of comparisons are even given.
Stick to what your good at. Building $2000 computers. Ha gott hiiiieemmm.
I got a KeyOne and PUBG plays amazingly
Should i use antistatic wristband to avoid damage on the blackberry?
my keyboard swipe doesn’t work when i try to swipe or touch my keyboard nothing happens
is that in setting option?
stick to mobiles lul
I have this phone and it works for me very nice and I like it.
rivstrong bracelet 😉
Can I buy this phone off you?
Legend
And WE GOT ONE!! Can’t believe he was still wearing the anti-static band!
The summary of this video/my response.
The review is of the phone, not of you.
