Is virtual reality the future of concerts? Imogen Heap is a Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter/audio engineer who has explored various emerging technologies in the past several years — from creating music with her MiMu motion controlled gloves to Mycelia, an experimental music distribution platform using blockchain-based technology. She is now creating an immersive virtual reality experience with TheWaveVR.

What would get you excited about VR concerts?
I feel so old and out of touch lol.
Frou Frou is life…
Men making woman look good again !
Interesting!
I love the host’s energy, adds a lot to the video as a whole. Great content!
It’s good to see people using the technology
She’s a genius
It is amazing, that Imogen has chosen to create Volumetric Video concert. This is going to be mesmerizing!
It’s a music video you watch with a VR headset. Right? What am I missing? Not getting how this is a “concert.”
SHE IS THE BEST!!!
VR/AR is not only the future of music, but for much of entertainment like gaming and movies.
I thought this was a great video that covered a lot of ground — artistically and technically. Really well put together and very informative. Thanks for posting!
👍😎👍
Chester Bennington would have loved this
i’ve been wondering if imogen knows björk and now after watching this, I’m happy that she did. Now I’m wondering if she’s a fan.
When I said I wanted to get inside Imogin this isn’t what I meant :/
What’s the name of the song around 7:30? <3
Just another thing to make life as an introvert easier, yet drive a stake in the heart of people’s real life
5:12 Particles, not pixels
Woooow, that would be a really good movie with the concept of Heap, like Ready Player One but for Music.
A very interesting concept about the future of music, imagine Ready Player One but with music instead of Games, this could be the real “TOMORROW LAND” and people of all ethnicities around the world could instantly meet each other.
Also, the idea of Imogen Heap at the end of the video could open new ways for music production and visualizing the sounds which usually is invisible to the human eyes. Imagine Gaming and Music Production combined !
Wow.
Future ultimate art form. This is why I love to work in VR area! 5G, IoT and VR/AR/MR will open new life-style in near future.
always loved imogens work both musician and engineer really. Seen her live and nothing will beat road tripping and seeing her live but this is cool!
1:24 what is that whats its name
So cool. Thank you!
I really admire Imogen, but i wonder if any of you have ever heard about BJORK, she´s been into VR tech for a while now.
the “peeling back wallpaper” imagery is really nice
Incorrect, VR concerts are indeed new. 360 video isn’t VR.
I did my university research project on Virtual reality & live music performance combined. This was between 2017–2018, I am excited to watch this video now. If I had an investor I would bring this to life myself.
I discovered her (Goodnight & Go) in 2007 and I was just mesmerized after that. She just MAKES YOU want to make music.
Just had the incredible pleasure of watching Imogens music video on “WaveVR”. So intense, made the hairs on my neck and arms stand on end. Never felt anything like it.
Just saw this in VR today and it was amazing. Can’t wait for the future of music in VR.
Wait, dj’s think they are performers????
Are those wooden ‘flowers’ (1′54″) speakers? What are they??
The founder sounds like a visual / tech lover more than a music lover
Cool
🥰
i’ve been wanting to try digital performances like this! imogen always does such cool stuff. i’m looking forward to exploring vr music
I love it. Gets me inspired. I have fleeting ideas but I want to be able to explore all sorts of possibilities.
Who else is here due to Social Distancing?
Did they take regular 360 video of her home or is any of it a 3D reconstruction?
Who knew this would become mainstream in 2020
watching this in 2021.…they were right
Truly magical,
yet in the here & now, this is so great. The lady is a genius+surrounding herself with experts in the name of advanced creativity. Thank You for sharing &making my day🤗Guys, any idea how we can watch this concert in 2021? It was such an amazing experience watching this but Wave VR shut down :/
Woooooow this is goals
Performing in WaveXR was life changing. I spent 8 months building immersive nightclub experiences in VR. It was incredibly gratifying as an artist to create concert experiences from my wildest dreams.
I am still GUTTED that this is no longer available! This was a transformative experience in VR. For me, it was the first time that I actually grasped that virtual reality could be more than a video game. It was bordering on the spiritual. I can only imagine what it would be like in the higher resolutions of today’s VR technology.
