Did you know the last Blockbuster in America is in Bend, Oregon? In 2004, the company went from over 9,000 locations worldwide to exactly one in America. But in this streaming age, is there anything we can learn from Blockbuster? We traveled to Oregon to find out.

#Blockbuster #Netflix #doesnt
What do you miss about going to local video stores?
I remember going to Blockbuster and renting movies then making a copy with my two VCRs.
Blockbuster actually gots Fucken movies we wanna WATCH
Video stores will one day come back cause streaming doesn’t have all the titles
I owed Blockbuster literally hundreds of dollars in late fees when it collapsed in my country. Sorry Blockbuster!
Thank you blockbuster your in my childhood…
I still have dvds that I bought at blockbuster. They still have the stickers on them. We need more videos stores. I miss them
Thought Alaska had the last one
Netflix doesn’t hace all the new movies that just got out the cinemas
This is no different from F.Y.E. we still have one in our mall in Florida
“they made us an offer we couldn’t refuse” yes yes u definitely own a video store.
One BlockBuster in every Mega City in the USA should not be an issue. One in New York, one in LA and one in Dallas at least. If they can survive in small town then I dont see why it should be imposible for one in a city of millions to survive, even without the small town/last blockbuster experience. I would go monthly for sure.
Netflix has Cobra Kai best show ever. It was on YouTube then moved to Netflix.
Let’s bring back blockbuster stores I miss the old ways
My sister had Blockbuster. My mom did not we rented a movies and DVD’s. My mom loved this one store thst closed do to Blockbuster opening across the store. Now the old Blockbuster in that town is a bank. I did buy movies DVD’s there. I got kicked down the one store. My mom was one of the best customers and they kicked me out. That’s when my mom started to get movies from Netflix in 2007. We still have Netflix now my brother and I lost a couple of DVD’s. My mom had to pay $14 for those. We started streaming Netflix I think in 2010 maybe 2009. At least Netflix does have that Karate Kid shoe Cobra Kai. I watched the old karate kid back in 2010 on Netflix. While I was streaming streaming it back when I was 18. My mom didn’t have to pay for lake fees to Netflix. Unless you lost the DVD which can happen. The guy who founded Netflix had to pay $40 for late fees. That’s a lot of money for late fees. I had to pay $4 for late fees at different video rental store. That was the One I got kicked out of that’s why my mom switched over to Netflix instead. My mom said we’re one of his best customers and they kicked my son out.
Perks of living right by blockbuster
Netflix is setting itself up for failure. Lets go, Blockbuster!
I propose we hold that Blockbuster AND we give them a lot of new customers
I watched Netflix the other day at my Bro tv Lets face It Netflix got a lot of popular movies but the most just new releases no classic they didnt have color of money,Carlitos way, friday the 13rd saga,a nightmare on elm street, leprechaun, bachelor party,Turner &hooch,Robocop, they didnt even hace the first three tmnt movies just the ones with Megan Fox c’mon
I wish I could go back to a Friday night getting my mom to take me to blockbuster to get the video game I’ve been waiting all week to play
If the movie you wanted was sold out you’d go looking for something new.
THAT’S what Netflix can’t do.
They should make Blockbusters an app
Toys R Us similar story
Does the last blockbuster have clay fighter sculptor’s cut?
What you actually miss is the feeling you get of some good memories of better days.. when everything seems to be more romantic than today, because memory always let things look better which happened back in the days, right?
No you dont miss Blockbuster, otherwhise you wouldnt just come up with “OH yeah, blockbuster, I ‘member..”
its good that this one blockbuster still exists.. but the problem i see is as time goes on it will be harder for them to retain customers especially since disc players will one day be part of the past. unless of course this blockbuster would also rent out players aside from the movies.
really well done video btw
Coming back to this after watching Blockbuster on Netflix! Feels ironic
with all these streaming wars segmentation. I can see how videostores might come back
3:24 Lmao. Ain’t no way he just recommended Requiem for a Dream.
Nothing is better than looking at a movie, picking it up, reading the back, and then deciding to purchase it, knowing nothing about what you’re getting. Compared to going on streaming sites and picking something from there.
It’s still pretty common to rent movies from corner stores in Guam. I think it’s because of the isolation and typhoons.
Okay well I’ve learned that I just need to move to Bend Oregon lol
I buy a body spray because it smells like blockbuster its called “cheriosa 71”
When mine closed the lights were already half out and read ” blo us”
I miss blockbuster!!!!! Lots of fun every Friday night!!!!
