We’ve finished building our Home of the Future. But now it’s starting to feel more and more like the home of the present. Join Grant Imahara as we look at how the tech in our home can change in the next 50 years.

What do you want in your home 50 years from now?
Homes of the future will cost like $1 milliom
I would of liked to see a tour of the whole house at the end
It’s not a smart home without a smart mirror where’s the smart mirror
That smart fridge is a giant Windows Phone Edge browser 😀
Will You guys do project in india ??
That’s Cool , but yet ! .. this system all connected together in a way that might fail all once if something wrong happens ,
Call Tech ‚
Wait them to come .
wasting time .
and might fail again and again , its Tech and that what Tech Do .
i believe in once thing that Tech might help you @ home ! : Security & Electricity ! other than That .. Get Lost .
i like to keep my home simple , with remote „ No .. 10 Remotes „ No .. Maybe 15 Remote .
i know some people will thing i’m against Tech ! . no i’m not . i’m a Tech Guy ! but Still i like simple life .
i cant imagine that all my house are controlled with 1 touch screen which can fail in some point and i have to pay $$$ just to replace it (Don’t forget : Reprogramming) ! ” Replacing a remote is a 5~10,-$ ” .
even after a 50 years if i got this years to live for , i rather use a mechanical controller for every single thing .
Tech make’s us lazy , and we’re already slowly going that far .. Starting With This ! ..
Do you need such a humongous vehicle to move yourself around?
People choose to not eat healthy .…. thats why they have more junk food in the house than real food .….Food would not be the # 1 problem .….. it should be cleaning & temperature .…. people are sobs — temperature is always hard to regulate
I feel I will become more lazier than now.
The absolute worst way to surf the internet is on the experimental browser on the kindle.
Home of the future needs a TESLA
😙
The problem with most of these future home projections is that many of them are conservative.
I suggest seeking more science fiction. Of course, by civil construction, really futuristic and bold things are difficult. But once the 3D printer is super affordable, we may be able to make our bold, curved, super ahead of time design dreams come true.
After all, what good is all this technology if it still sounds very conservative and square?
Three important questions.
1 What happened to the house?
2 What companies helped you built this house?
3 How much did this all cost?
Something is missing a Tesla car because it is electronic 🙃.
I guess is still too expensive, how much 100 thousands for empty shell with plumbing and basic electrical installation without gadgets ?House of future ‑fast deployable, energy efficient, cheap.
How many of them are watching this for there clg report😅
The home of tomorrow..is not this
A lot of this is marketing bollocks. The reason we have for walls and a door is because of our nature with the egg /womb and wanting a sense of security like a turtle in it’s she’ll. A door is easier the eating and kicking our way out of a embryotic sack. Technology at this scale is almost dysfunctional. Get the amount of technology that you absolutely need and want per your life choices. It’s all technically not even suppose to exist anyway. Bask in whatever luxury you can afford and/or ENDURE and toss the rest. They’re eating off us anyway.
all gadgets will become obsolete in a nick of time!
Home of the future is suppose to save you money but you end up paying monthly fees for things that you can actually do yourself which in turn can cost you for being lazy. The house is nice and simple i like it but all the tech can go.
RIP Grant
Wow just watched this video yesterday. Thanks for making science and tech so fun and engaging Grant RIP.
Grant, you will be missed 🙁
R.I.P GRANT. a moment of silence please.
I binged this entire series just for Grant. RIP
Rip Grant
RIP
I would’ve love to have a completed house tour. RIP Grant.
RIP Grant Imahara
rip Grant Imahara
Very nice series but is this The House of the Future or a High Tech House of Today?
All components and concepts are available not like the presentation of the future house in the 60’s showing a microwave as a concept.
I miss Grant!!! 😭
How about a massive deep earth bunker with load Bay lift included so u could easily purchase new furniture fridge freezer etc
so cottages of the future will look like that, but homes of the future will be smaller than what we have now because the gap between the rich and poor will greatly widen.
Rip grant Imahara I miss him he was so cool
Can you do a whole house tour
😉
The smart fridge is $6000 but couldn’t afford a $50 CPU to run a web browser properly?
The best series 🤍✨
When I was little ‚I wanted to live like the Jetsons .
