Mexico invited Americans over to be fodder for indigenous people slaughter and when they remained, a dictator arose and annulled the constitution along with guaranteed rights and freedoms, so the fodder caught back and won their independence.
Rahhhh freedom 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
They did not want Texans to have slaves because of economic competition. The Aristocrats that ruled Mexico had already had the poor indigenous, and mestizo populations as forced labor in their mines and fields. Santa Ana was their go to boy throughout their history.
This time we’re coming down to the countdown or last days or END OF TIMES.Theres Mexicans that are going to want their territory back. Theres muslims that declared jihad in 1997 and gave you 1776 on September 11,2001.
[Mexico — Texas]
3:37 Aside from the fact that texas DIDN’T suffer from economical instability, they were no border dispute but they were mexican attempts to violate 1836’s borders.
On the other hand, the mexican republic DID suffer from economical instability because the former texas province was the richest of them.
And crockett didn’t surrender while bowie was not under his bed.
And the texas republic didn’t relied on aid from belgium or france (these are blatant lies.)
HOW can the @history channel spread such laughable fairy tales that are nearly as RIDICULOUS as the numerous propaganda claims of the disgusting ottoman regime ?
Stop calling them “settlers” and “Americans” nothing but the 300 family’s were legal the rest were illegal and Anglo
It did not name 1835
For all the land stolen from Mexico from us Americans, we can give back California.
A Mexican walks into a Tejas bar. He yells at the American immigrant bartender, and says “¡Nosotros hablamos español en Mejico!”
IS THIS CLIP PART OF A LONGER SERIES ON TEXAS HISTORY? If so, please let me know where I can watch it. Thanks
Know what I love about this piece of history? It shows that Americans will not be denied.
It had nothing at all to do with slaves nobody in Mexico gave a flying f about slavery they had less then 1 percent of blks in there country . They were getting nervous how many came to Texas
Funny how Texans like to say ‘Don’t California my Texas’ 😂
fake prapagonda
This is just plain garbage and hate! Slavery was an issue back then but not the only issue! Everything was changing very fast in the old times, just like the Spanish taking over Florida through the west people say Spanish conquistadors were heroes. They bravely sailed into the unknown, gathered untold riches and wealth and spread Christianity to the New World. To others, the conquistadors were evil villains who slaughtered native empires, enslaved thousands, and cheated and stole great fortunes. Same for whites they were moving west and joined with Mexicans living in Texas not taking land but asking for land and living with Mexicans but the Mexican government didn’t want the United States to take the land was the BIGGEST fear not SLAVERY. Then Mexicans, and whites called TEXIANS fought to keep the MEXICAN government from taking some of their RIGHTS and LAND away! It goes to show how gross and divisive this new culture is although their is ugliness and evil mixed in all our history this loathing of our culture is gross. We need to unite as a mixed culture not point out one aspect of the past and say this is the past. The past was just as mixed and diverse as today we are no more enlightened then they were and Mexicans, and Texans were united in different groups back then supporting different ideologies and fighting natives for different reasons to spread christianity which has changed lives for the better for thousands of years! This culture of obsessing over slavery or thinking it was the only reason for all the hardships is false as it was an issue we christians abolished like the stain it was and embraced freedom for all. Christians were the reason for love between all cultures if you want to focus on one issue! Hate is in this telling of current lies!
As a US History teacher in NM, I can say that the explanation of this video is reductionist and thus misleading. Were the Texan settlers planning to separate from Mexico eventually? Probably. Did Mexico really have a strong claim on the land when only 7,000 Mexicans “tejanos” lived in Texas compared to the 30,000 Americans in the year 1835? Questionable. Arguably, the party with the best claim to the land were the Native Americans, but like was often the case in the 1800s, “might made right” and the American settlers turned out to be more mighty that both the Mexican troops and the Native Americans. Not passing moral judgement here, just stating a couple of the many auxiliary facts that need to be mulled over before reaching a ten-second “punchline” conclusion.
The Mexicans should have built a wall!
Mexico wanted Anglos to come in and deal with the apaches and comanches but not actually want to govern themselves.
President Santa Anna signed over all Mexican claims to Texas territory in exchange for his life 1836.
The Roman Catholic Church required slavery to be illegal therefore making it less socially acceptable in Mexico.
Mexico didn’t officially abolish slavery until 1837. The slavery argument against the Texas revolution is largely a 21st century myth.
BECAUSE THE WHITE MAN WAS BRINGING SLAVES INTO TEXAS WHEN IT BELONG TO MEXICO..IT WAS AGAINST THE LAW IN MEXICO TO OWN SLAVES… SO DONT LIE WHITE MAN.
Lets not concider that slaves were used everywhere in that time.. Indians took slaves but lets keep blaming white people. Mexico lost because Santa anna was a tyrant and an idiot. Get over it
Mexicans/Latinx have become a majority in Texas recently.
San Ja-cinto. 🙄 History Channel is trash
Why call it americans.. ” the AMericans kept coming? Call it for what it is” the Europeans, the Americans were brown skin, not white.
The Mexican army of General Antonio López de Santa Anna defended the integrity of the national territory from the US-American filibusters, who balkanized the Mexican province of Texas to maintain slavery (eliminated from Mexico) as a source of legal work, Santa Anna only went to defend the Mexican territory (Texas) and to eliminate slavery from that province.
Support the independence of the Republic of Texas and the Republic of California! Americans have no right to interfere with the rights of the people of California and Texas! The US government is abusing, bullying, and oppressing the people of Texas and California 💔💔
The prohibition of slavery by Mexico was the driving nail that severed Texas from Mexico, or well atleast inspired the Texans to severe Texas from Mexico, it was the bees knees to them, best cotton growing lands in the country, if you read the anti Texas legion protest it gives you all the juicy facts related to Texas, that den of scorpions and vipers
I am from TX and I vividly remember the history class lessons on Davy Crockett, Stephen F Austin, the Alamo, etc. None of that mentioned anything about land grants being given by Mexico. They painted Santa Anna as this vile individual, but he was just trying to get his ish back lol. Man, we were lied to!
