NASA’s Test Orion Spacecraft in the Pacific Ocean at Sunset

Orion is NASA’s spacecraft for carrying astronauts on exploration missions to the Moon and beyond. When Orion returns to Earth from space, it will be slowed by parachutes before splashdown. Here, NASA’s recovery team and the U.S. Navy practice recovering a test Orion capsule from the ocean waters. Bonus: stunning views of the sunset in the Pacific off the coast of California!
This footage was captured on Nov. 1, 2018, during Underway Recovery Test‑7 (URT‑7) — one in a series of tests that NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems Recovery Team and the U.S. Navy are conducting: These tests verify and validate procedures and hardware that will be used to recover the Orion spacecraft after it splashes down in the Pacific Ocean following deep space exploration missions.

Nasa should stick to sun set videos. That’s was nice
NASA Lies
Why tf is this on my recommended notification
Why don’t they just divers attach cables to the Orion and have a helicopter lift it up and carry it to an aircraft carrier ??
Like that ship drifting to the sky. So fantastic.
There is no NASA without shuttles program.
What did I just watch? And why couldn’t that be tested in a pool? Thanks for the video you threw together in 5 min NASA. Real great.
Brian Eno?
this should be child’s play since we have already been to the moon…
Just get a Super Stallion to lift it onto the deck!
QUE. IMANGEM.LINDA.MUITO.LINDA
is it the USS john p murtha??
Why is the capsule being pushed rather than pulled in the transport ship?
Very nice video!
Unnecessary if NASA scales up TR-3B (ZPE) from Space Command Reveal Advances &
make Americans proud & enemies quake in their sandals.
The music is epic!
What is the music?
Confess
So it takes hours for the battleship to back it up into its hull. The astronauts would’ve run out of food.
If I was inside that capsule I would want a helicopter with divers to attach Orion and lift me out of the water and onto the flight deck. Save money and a whole hell of alot of time!
..
Good Luck NASA from Russia.
More look like a onion that will never float in space lol
🤥
That is the USS John P. Murtha
