Sony PlayStation Classic first look: It’s good, but not great

I can­celled my pre­order on the PS Clas­sic because of a lack of good PS game titles. Gran Tur­is­mo was­n’t among them.

“It’s good but not great” no it’s not. The emu­la­tion sucks, the games are not the best, lots of them are miss­ing. The price is high… this thing blows!

How would we buy more PS1 games?

It´s not good but it will be after some smart guys made it to hack that board completely.

It’s almost ok, but not good!

Can any­one tell me the same game as in 3:15 ? Been search­ing for it for a while. All i can remem­ber is a guy agent been cap­tured and we need to res­cue him. In that game there a mis­sion when we have been giv­en a cam­era and that cam­era can change us base on the per­son that we had tak­en pic­ture of. Its kind­da japan­ese but have a eng­lish ver­sion too. If some­one know plsss tell mee .

Where’s Spy­ro the Drag­on? Where’s Gran Tur­is­mo? Where’s Need for Speed? Where’s Twist­ed Met­al 2? Where’s Crash f*cking Bandicoot!?

I total­ly agree, this con­sole, that I call PS1 2018, is good, but NOT great!

I mis­un­der­stood the com­mer­cial for this con­sole, and thought that you’re gonna be able to buy oth­er PS1 games than the 20 pre-installed games on some­thing like Playsta­tion Net­work via the PS1 2018, but when I pre-ordered this con­sole and got it in my mail­box, it stood in the man­u­al that you can only play the 20 pre-installed games, and no oth­er PS1 games at all.

That is just such a disappointment.

I think new and mod­ern games are too advanced and com­pli­cat­ed, and I pre­fer old games more than any­body else.

So I am real­ly dis­ap­point­ed in Sony. As far as I have seen on YouTube, there are very many peo­ple who wor­ship old games for (for exam­ple) PS1, and I can’t believe Sony don’t care about them (although they did care about them when PS3 was in store and you could buy PS1 games via a PS3).

Down­load an emu­la­tor and the roms of what­ev­er games you want. Its bet­ter on pc.;)

Some peo­ple are TOO PICKY about the games

And now that price has fall­en near­ly in half. It looks like some­thing that could have been great, but just wasn’t.

Who else used to keep the door open and put your fin­ger in the but­ton at the back to keep the disk spinning?

if this thing had crash bandi­coot or tomb raider maybe even mega­man leg­ends that would of been cool but nope. they had to put in non ps clas­sics like freak­ing mr driller.

This is just a PS col­lec­tors item to put on a shelf in my opin­ion .. BUT for peo­ple that real­ly want to play some of these 20 games I would say go for it .. I see lots of these con­soles online for like 50 — 80 $ right now .. more or less off­course .. If you think about the cost of Rev­e­la­tions: Per­sona alone it’ll cost you more then 150 $ on PS1 .. This game is a very expen­sive game .. Twist­ed met­al starts at 70 $ + .. Not to men­tion Res­i­dent Evil , Final Fan­ta­sy 7 and some oth­ers that are expen­sive to buy .. If you only like 1/2 games of this selec­tion you have your mon­ey back ..
They could have made more out of it , but there are some great clas­sics on it .. Oth­er­wise the only major draw­back for me is that there is a clear­ly low­er response speed
with many ( if not all ) of these games.. That’s why I feel it’s good as a col­lectible. For exam­ple, for me per­son­al­ly, Abe’s odd­world is the best game from this selec­tion, but also a game that should absolute­ly not suf­fer from delays. This is anoth­er one of those games where respon­sive­ness is the only way to play this game…something this con­sole has issues with ..
expec­ta­tions were high, and I real­ly under­stand the dis­ap­point­ment of some peo­ple .. a 7/10 score for this con­sole one 👀 price — quality

Look, you can say it’s dis­ap­point­ing all you want, but once you mod it, this thing will be a powerhouse.
