The asteroid Bennu could hold the secrets to how our solar system was formed (if it doesn’t smash into Earth and kill us all). Claire Reilly takes a look at the seven year mission to investigate Earth’s second biggest space threat.

What do you guys think the Tagsam arm will dig up on the Bennu Asteroid? If you enjoyed this then watch last weeks EP: Inside NASA’s InSight landing on Mars: https://youtu.be/muIw7WBFTRs
😁
PS. All “Flat Earther’s” will be banned from making dumb comments. Have a great weekend Earthlings!
I like this host. Charming.
Tag only? I would think they would go after non-surface dirt since the dirt on the surface could have been collected recently as the asteroid travels through space.
we would all be dead before it hit us.
B!
I’ve been saying Sexy Levy for years
2:18 Empire Records reference. Nice.
You are amazing! Should be presenting a TV show.
If I’ve learnt anything from disaster films, Australia pretty much always survives, so we’re safe.
ps: bloody great report
Can you please put Claire Riley on more. Love her she’s so sassy 💁♀️
incredible presenter! Give here more chances to perform!
Claire, you’re awesome! Big fan of your delivery.
Wouldn’t the probe have to drill quite deep into the asteroid to get any useful information? Anyway we need more Claire Reilly as she’s brilliant & funny
Claire you are wonderful!!
Extremely annoying
She’s great. Fresh air, she’s got charisma. Notified bell pushed.
I really enjoy these videos really good knowledge.… Keep it up ya.….
Wow I Like Her! Amazing Host!!
Wouldn’t tagging that asteroid in the demonstrated manner cause a very slight micro-unit course alteration which might direct the damn thing squarely towards us?
Just the right amount of humour, great delivery
I always enjoy this show. But it it hs to be among the worst-publicicized podcasts on Earth. For those of us who would like to subscribe, where the heck is a URL to subscribe? Or does C|Net prefer that nobody subscribe for some reason? Fire your publicists tomorrow.
Where is this woman from? Autralia or New Zealand.. can’t pin down her accent
If we are gonna blow this asteroid off we need to know what is made of so we can prepare a nice super bomb to destroy it
‘Second biggest space threat’ So what’s the biggest one!!!??
Bennu will not “kill us all”. It is far too small to do that. The predicted impact energy would be around 1200 megatons. Not nearly enough to “kill us all”. Impacts of this size object occur on average every 130,000 years. That means mankind has likely already endured an impact by a Bennu-sized asteroid. The presenter mis-categorizes and confuses the Palermo Impact Scale with the Torino Scale. Palermo rates probability of impact, Torino rates extent of potential effects. Two completely different things.
Let us compare the Bennu asteroid with the one that “wiped out the dinosaurs”, as an example of how goofy this presenter’s story is.
“Dinosaur Killer” Diameter: 10km (6.4 miles). Bennu Diameter: less than 0.5 km (0.310 miles).
We live in the “post-truth” era, where presenters throw out bogus facts in order to get noticed and achieve popularity, however undeserved.
I almost blocked this channel for its click-bait title but it says CNET so I clicked. Did I just watching a video from the Katering show? Hmmm.…
She is so funny lmaof
Sad for the asteroid hits News.
But this video made me happy.
Hope Claire you survived the hit😇
This raisin hate is ridiculous. It is like casually joking about chocolate looking like shit and being amazed why someone would like it. The opinion of people is so radically different i’m starting to suspect genetics are involved.
And how exactly is this an “Earth Destroying” asteroid? Just because it has a high chance of hitting doesn’t mean it is “Earth Destroying”. Alot of things hit earth everyday, and they dont kill anyone. This asteroid is very small, will barely do anything.
This show amazes me every time. So much research. So many puns. So much pop culture. Just enough zaniness. Really fun and very informative.
fake
This lady is a not bit concerned about any asteroid hitting earth what a joke! The media knows what’s going on
This woman is awesome! lol
