Asus went to the draw­ing board to rein­vent their 17-inch gam­ing lap­top, and they came back with the ROG Moth­er­ship (GZ700). At 10.4 pounds, it’s a hefty lap­top, but it packs a potent Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU and an over­clocked Intel Core i9-8950HK. But what’s most inter­est­ing is the form fac­tor. The key­board can detach and be reshaped. The lap­top can be placed ver­ti­cal­ly, giv­ing its cool­ing sys­tem more room to breathe. It’s seems more like a Microsoft Sur­face at times than a gam­ing lap­top, and that’s a good thing.
