SoftBank has long been working on robot helpers, and at CES 2019 they let us see what it’s like to actually shop with robots taking the roles of actual humans. Led by SoftBank’s Pepper, our own Claire Reilly got a glimpse of what shopping’s like when humans have been replaced by robots.

That robot is fricken RETARDED!!!!
Hey i always wait for your videos
But the real question is can it survive a woman complaining about their clothes?
I like how at 1:32 Pepper is all like “wtf, why did you leave me here alone?”.
CES is all about deodorant
Is every CNET reporter Australian lol
Peper had a time delay in the beginning
Finally, a good cnet video today
Lazy and stupid, technology is making humans dumb
WTH are all the hosts/reporters are Australian or what cuz that accent is hard to understand sometimes eh! Even pepper somewhat didn’t understand!
I love Robots 🤖
And this will be the death of us
What happened to her upper lip? :/
No please I wanna keep my job
Coconut eww..
That robot was obviously referring to a Feminine Hygiene deodorant, did you remember to change your knickers?
Love to see robots at Walmart for online pick up,and customer service 😊
Oh dear, they have a lot to work on. Shopping like that would be a pain.
Pretty soon everyone who works in retail will be out of a job. That’s fine with me. The less people in Walmart, the better.
That awkward silence 0:31 should be replaced with something like “I’m scanning your face, please wait a moment.”, because people may think the robot froze and start to search for some kind of reset button 🙂
Nice video.
We’re living real-life Star Wars, people! =D
I wonder if you can bring a REAL ROBOT into Galaxy’s Edge,
