Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: is a slider better than a notch?
xiaomi,mi mix 3,xiaomi mi mix 3,mi mix,phones,notch,bezels,android,chin,cameras,smartphone,smartphones,phone,slider phone,best phones,best phone,oppo,huawei,honor,vivo,samsung,pixel,best android,xiaomi review,hands on,first look,review,slider,unboxing,no notch,phone chin,technology,top 10,gadgets,tech,latest updates,how to,diy,mkbhd,apple,google,iphone,macbook,verge,the verge
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is one of the first phones that uses a manual slider to reveal the front camera. We’re probably going to see this design from a few different manufacturers in 2019 — rumors are that the OnePlus 7 will have a similar sliding design, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we see other phones from Oppo, Vivo, Honor, Huawei, and more with this mechanism. You have to really ask yourself, how much do you hate the notch to prefer a design like this?
Correction: It appears that Xiaomi isn’t actually using springs for the Mi Mix 3’s sliding screen, but is instead using a set of magnets to allow the screen to slide between the two positions and stay put until you push it back. It’s a clever system, but we’re still not convinced the system will be as durable as a non-sliding device.
Here’s a link to buy the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3:

Notch phones are lame
Nowadays All phones Are looks the Same!
Let difference Companies try some new Stuff as they tried in previous Decades! like Nokia and others!
So Don’t Blame Them!
Only these companies can try different stuff because Companies like Apple is just selling the Same Thing over the years!
None existing audio sync
Well I knew he would prefer the notch by looking at his watch
Samsung Forever
6t or mix 3?
I wish Xiaomi use lighter material for a budget version of this, mi mix3 it’s too heavy and fragile
If only we had a little more bezel so that we can squeeze in a selfie camera.…..
This guy hates everything.
I still believe the best solution is a single camera with a smaller display on the back for selfies. Why have a whole separate camera just for selfies?
Why you dont even do a proper review of the phone
lousy review: having to move pinky away before sliding down? whats the big fuss? good that it isnt coming for you idiots over at NA
Somehow, I think this video featured more of your face than the phone itself.
There are no springs. Magnets! I mean try a little while reviewing non apple stuff!
Mix mix uses magnets for sliding mechanism not mechanical parts.……
I really hope OnePlus starts using sliders
This review was on point.
Can’t understand why people are calling “nitpicking” here.
Everything he said is valid. You get a heavy phone with a small battery. And sliding the display down could make it easier for you to drop it.
Are all those compromises really worth it to skip a “hole” or small notch??
Sounds like the shrine from botw

I kinda miss Joshua Topolsky work on the verge.
It would have been great if Apple made this
At least xiaomi had a courage to evaluate innovation.. not like fruit company..
Will never spend my money on a phone with a notch. 😎🇿🇦
This guy really doesn’t like this phone
I hate the notch enough…
So if someone videocalls n u forget about the slider.…this is stupidity
Yes the verge as usual thinks it knows better and everyone else with a different perspective is wrong xD the best problem they could find is that it’s hard to slide it down. It’s not like it’s going all the way. The BB was way more hard to keep in your hand when you slide it than the mi mix 3. Idk what kinda hand you have. Seems like the easier things just slip through your hands and the harder things stays in. Hmmm lol interesting.
I would get this phone once we make better cases for it, I mean NO ONE holds on a modern phone longer than 2 years anyways
I never used my selfie camera. I need a phone with full screen with no front camera …
for me they could just get rid of the selfie camera
I have it
It’s a great phone
Previous phone iPhone 8 plus
Oh no he’s back
Bro it’s only and I say only 550 vs 7 to 800 like the s8+ and still has as many or yet some different features that other phones dont.
Its really simple innovation and better go for this.. or i still prefer bezels.
What’s the chin for. My xs max has no chin. Is there a reason for all android phones having chins?
Why is there a chin. My Xs max has no chin.
The title should be “How bad is xiaomi mi mix 3” cause you certainly is making a good phone look bad, lol.
Disagree about phone drop. From point of view that we were using sliders and folding ones for so long before the phones started to be more and more convenient. I feel that the more the tech is serving as the more we are losing basing motor skills, and I have one. Such a cool feeling to slide and open your cam, not to mention screen area. Besides, we are dropping our phones on a regular basis with or without that cam feature. 🙂 Which is (again) cool! 🙂 Awkward is the word I would use for the NGAGE or Communicator 1010 🙂 p.s. Both Mi 9T and MIX have been dropped few times and most of the time I’m using face unlock, not a single indication for faulty mechanisms or so. 12.4.2021 — almost 2 years later. Strongly recommended phones. Regards!
