Hi friends, I see some of you are commenting about how we used a bit of clay to shoot some footage of the phone. To be super clear, we cleaned it off very rigorously. In my original article (http://bit.ly/2PiOhMi), I just said it MIGHT be what caused the screen to break, just because it’s important to me to be very transparent and honest. But the truth is that:
1. No fewer than five review units have been broken so far.
2. I don’t really think it was the clay, but I might be wrong!
3. No matter what, it is VERY troubling to worry that anything could get inside the device. Just like Lew said: “I’m fairly confident that some substance on this hinge component could possibly work its way into the device. … Maybe you have to baby it.”
Nobody wants to have to baby a phone!

“Nobody wants to have to baby a phone!” Really?? x…x If you don’t take care of things like that and treat them like it was a metal phone or any other material of course it will break. I’m not saying they’re not responsible for doing it too fragile but since you are the one who spent 2k you more than anyone should care about it and take care of your money. No matter the brand of the device and not only regarding technology, we should always be careful with a fridge, a phone, tv devices, everything… At least that’s my point of view and what I do with everything and it works for me…
PS: I have few friends that are careless with everything and they break everything just using it for 2–3 days, I still get surprise at how destructive people can be…

Now it’s 2022. I’m holding a recently released Fold 4 in my hand, watching this first gen Fold review. Dieter really had it right: it had something new and worth waiting. With all issues resolved after couple iterations, Fold4 is truly unique and enjoyable to use. Love your review:)
