Sony Xperia 1 Cinematic Video | Cinema Pro app

Here’s some nice footage shot using the Sony Xperia 1’s Cinema Pro app. Targeted at budding videographers, the app allows shooting 10bit HDR video with full manual settings.
The Cinematic Pro video recording app was overshadowed by the other great capabilities of the Xperia 1. Now that our full review of the phone is out, we turned our attention to this particular feature as it required a lot more time for testing. Enjoy!

The gopher thing was adorable. The cats looked proud and strong. Didn’t care for the humans, lol. The colors looked off, the sky was blown out, but still it looked cinematic. I would watch an hour long version of this.
Reading the written review, it all seems pretty negative…
But when I watch this I can’t belive how many times I got fooled into thinking it’s more than just a simple video, the cinematic aspect ratio, Color palette, music and gimball-like stabilization sells the illusion for me.
Beautiful 🏵️🏵️
wow, im actually impressed
Beautiful video.
Wow! That’s impressive!
Xperia 1 rules
First thought. “Surely this isn’t a phone, it’s far to good?
Second thought. “That’s Sony’s colour science though. Oh my it is a phone, incredible!”
Just from a phone 😲😲😲❤️
Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 review plz
Everyone loves Sony phones, but the sale of it…
Wow… But battery:/
Watched on my Sony Xperia 1 & Now back to playing Shenmue on my phone😎
Xperia 1 can’t even record 4K (3840x2160) — check in Cinema Pro
Sony is trying to “limit” the 4K resolution now to separate the phone from their consumer cameras, which is ridiculous
Everyone and everything else can record standard 4K 16:9
Please do not use your woodworking tools like this guy did. Some unacceptably risky/poor techniques shown.
Really moving. I’m inspired. Funny thing is, it was a big mind trick for me. I didn’t understand that the Sony Xperia was a smart phone. I thought it was their high-end cinema camera. Hence, the whole time I was watching the video I was wanting to ask how I can make my full frame Sony a 7R3 footage look as good as that! The color grading is a work of art in itself. The creative world is truly changing.
Lot a lot of dynamic range lots of blown out whites and closed blacks. Good to see anamorphic supported though
I love sony
What settings you used?
I have the following problem, when I shoot with the Cinema Pro 4K HDR, is the image on HDR TV either too bright or too dark, what do I do wrong when setting?
How do I adjust the image correctly under consideration with HDR?
The only problem is the stabilization. The rest is excellent.
sadly most underrated smartphone . But it is the best smartphone in all aspects
Nice video! Well done sony! You did a great job here 👍
2:40 dude that dynamic range. So good
Well How did you export the movie with the filter from Cinema pro app!! I made some movies but when I share them they dont have the filter on and like 2,3 stop over exposed!
I’m just amazed by how far smartphone technology has gone… I bought my Nokia 5310 XpressMusic in the year 2007/2008… Wonder how much can smartphone technology goes, in terms of function…
It is cinematic wide, 🤩
This is beautiful. I think you use gimbal to shoot?
Is there stabilization on the video when using the cinema app or you have to use gimbal?
World Best phones
Very veeyy nice video ♥️
“samsung is better” yeah. If auto mode is for you, go for it. 🤪🤪
Was this taken in 16.9 then the Black bars added later? If so, why not shoot the video in 21.9 as that is perfect for the Xperia 1?
Hi Guys, which editing software did you use ?
Did Sony add one to edit on the phone or on desktop PC ?
I have been looking for a gimbal that can work with Sony Xperia One’s wide lense. Did the DJI allow you to shoot unobstructed wide ?
I don’t know what magic does Sony put in the Xperia 1 and 5 camera lenses. It doesn’t have the T* coating form Zeiss but still somehow there is minimal flaring and ghosting in the images in very difficult conditions such as the night street videos where there are just too many light sources. If you have ever tried to shoot video with an Iphone 11 pro (Or any other Iphone) in such night light situations, then you would know what I am talking about. I had a XZ2 Compact and I had the similar experience. I also have a Galaxy Note 10 plus and I have noticed particularly the lens quality on my two year old XZ2 Compact was noticeably better. Edge to edge sharp was the Sony G lens on the XZ2 Compact. Whereas the Galaxy Note 10 plus lens gets softer significantly as you move away from the center(I noticed when i was trying to translate something using the google translate camera). The Galaxy Note 10 plus has software compensation for that lens sharpness issue, but still it too flares noticeably which no software can fix.
This phone is breathtakingly amazing and wonderful to behold especially in it’s camera department and it has cinema pro to boost up that cinematic look to have a more professional footage, in General I just love this phone♥️😍.
Question what music are you playing in this video?
Wanna see more of this on Xperia 1 ii
This is awesome! I love it 😍
Well done.
how did you offload the footage?
why people love blackbar?
Can It record 10bit 422 in cinema pro
