The Echo show 5 is defective

I’m look­ing to replace a old bed­room alarm clock.. Prob­lem is that I like to be woke to ALL NEWS AM RADIO STATION… None of these will wake me to a radio sta­tion… I must talk to it? Or am I wrong? TY in advance, Joe

Why is it so big? Feels like it’s going back in time.

It’s just me that feels that the Echo is way much bet­ter sound-wise? It sounds like a ded­i­cat­ed speak­er where­as the Nest Hub sounds tinny.

Will there ever be a pic­ture in Pic­ture so it do not interupe what you are watch­ing on the Cube

Echo sounds much rich­er on both tracks.

I don’t need this thing…but it’s on sale for $45 right now, so I absolute­ly need this thing!

These are so great for so many rea­sons. You can play your music (speak­er is great) you can make phone calls even if your phones dead, you can have it help you with recipes, enable skills for anx­i­ety, its an alarm clock. I like the spot because its per­fect for an alarm and music, but also you can use it for zoom & skype.

We like the audio qual­i­ty of the Echo Show 5 … Until … you pair a blue­tooth device, or an Ama­zon remote. After dis­con­nect­ing the blue­tooth, the built in speak­er loos­es it’s fideli­ty and sounds very tin­ny. To return the fideli­ty to the built-in speak­ers, I have to unplug the pow­er and plug it back in. Also, when I paired the Ama­zon remote, the mic func­tion did not work; all the oth­er fea­tures worked. I had to pair the Ama­zon remote to my Echo Dot, and then the remote updat­ed itself and the mic func­tion would work on the Echo Show 5. I may just have a faulty device.

I’d still (and did) go with the leno­vo smart clock for my bed­room. I like the rel­a­tive sim­plic­i­ty, and I was able to get it at $40. Caveat… I have my smart clock cast­ing music to a chrome­cast audio and nicer speak­ers. I don’t care so much about the onboard sound in these small devices.

Got it for free along with the Ring secu­ri­ty cam when I switched to Ver­i­zon Fios.

err.. peo­ple use it for recipes and voice con­trol, why not review that?

Ques­tion.
Does the (echo dot 3rd gen) and the (echo show 5″) have the same (pow­er brick) ?
Can I just switch them out ?

I just got it and real­ly like it . In my kitchen and I like it small on my counter. It is not to replace my IPAD for watch­ing videos or Fire Tablet. It is great for my Ring set ups and con­trol­ling smart plugs and lights etc.

So many cool smart home devices pow­ered by medi­atek! Real­ly awesome!

Only list­ed for $34.99 today for prime day. I might try it out. This is what­ev­er pur­chase because my phone does every­thing peo­ple use it for 🤷🏽‍♂️
