What do you guys think?… Can they deploy 1,000 of these in 5 years? Watch The Ocean Cleanup unveil The Interceptor; a river-based plastic catcher from today’s press conference https://youtu.be/dkXCUXj2FcA
Now if they could make one that removed raw sewage, toxins, heavy metals …that would be even better. Maybe deployable tubes on either side with screens on them. The water flows in and through chemical and electrolysis exposure they can remove certain elements. Then pump the treated water back out.
I know in some of our bigger rivers people use magnetic releases on their fishing flashers and often times the magnets get clogged with metal fibers even though they are no where near the bottom . It’s just metals in the water.
So I think it’s doable.
What happens to the plastic you collect?. Along with all the other stuff
So disgusting the amount of trash that flows in the river out to the ocean. This need to be a major priority of govt. leaders.
hi from Australia,
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.
keep up the great work.
GRATITUDE FROM THE MARINE LIFE
xxxxxxxxxxx 🙂 🙂 🙂
I REALLY HOPE AUSSIE SIGNS UP FOR ONE AS WELL
Mr. Beast !!!
You already work with scientists. in order to bring more money into your business, you could sell your plastic raw materials to the companies that produce plastic goods and could recycle your collected plastic and pay you for it. I admire your job and am very grateful for what you do!
Every citizen of this world tweet this video to your respective water minister
I wish every rivers of this world deployed with interceptors as per their discharge
Reply from india .
I will Daily share this video to India’s water minister.
I want indian govt to ties up with boyan slat
You are brilliant!
This isn’t his invention
Conveyor would do it.
But the people must not throw anything of they want energy.
It’s between energy and technology.
There are ways that can filter that but the cost will be triple.
So one question, is this a robot?
What’s the name of the first song?
Name of first song?
if you’re so smart at cleaning, why dont you clean your sound signal, and get rid of that annoying noise!!!!!1!!1!
Saw Boyan’s ocean cleanup efforts in my Facebook memories today.. from 8 years ago.. 2014.. wanted to follow up and see what he was up to now… super happy to see this.. three years ago.. anxious to find a more recent update now too..
Fabulous.. to find him here still working… he was goal is to clean the 1,000 top.. most polluting rivers around the world.. by 2025.. aim is… and has been to ‘rid the oceans of plastics..’ which means prevent more plastics from reaching ocean
These 1,000 rivers contribute 80% of the plastics into the oceans..
Wow.. as many comments say this young man deserves the Nobel Prize..
The ‘Interceptor’ collects plastic autonomously just have to empty filters.. totally powered by sunlight..
give this man some recognition.. xo
And Woops.. pardon his tea kettle whistling in the back ground.
This is awesome the right minds have come together. If only we could change the mindset of the people. do yo have ideas for cleaning the sides of the roads?
Thank you for this contribution to the fight against plastic pollution!
Why he look like dream?
