The Surface Pro X is the Windows 10 computer Microsoft has tried to make for years. It is a beautiful, well-made hybrid tablet device that runs on an ARM processor co-developed between Microsoft and Qualcomm. The base model costs $1,138.99 with a keyboard. But like previous attempts, Microsoft hasn’t done enough to offset the compromises this aspirational computer asks of customers.

Do you think there will ever be enough ARM apps to make this computer worth it?
MS: You can not simply switch to ARM without sacrificing on performance and app compatibility.
Apple:
Apple showed that ARM was the future, its now Microsoft turn to up the game
i agree, but the same time, microsoft knows this but they need to get it out there for it to progress. as for me, all i need is youtube, browsing, maybe ms office. it’ll do fine.
But the ergonomics are bad. Not great for your posture? Look at how you’re sitting, you’ll damage your back using this long term?
my heart is also broken
Please don’t buy any surface products, software has many issues, they update it regularly, whenever new updates comes the system fails in many other hardware things…for me in last update and the keyboard and mouse stopped working…customer service is worst. Doesn’t worth the money we pay to those people!!
So about 1 1/2 years later I got one of them and cant complain at all. All Apps I need run as 64 bit and I can use the citrix farm of my company with the surface pro x without any issues as well using the citrix workplace and receiver. I also dont use any kind of paper anymore since everything I write on the surface is saved as a digital file instantly.
Does it not come with a keyboard?
How is it with Pycharm?
Which apple watch are you wearing?the strap😻
Can that back stand work on a portrait orientation? 🤔
One year later and what is going on?
E.g. Firefox gave it up, right? And Chrome, not even there yet — if ever?
Thanks for the review. I was actually considering this but not now. My daughters have Surface Pro 7s with x86 CPUs. I will probably go that route instead of the X.
To let yall know, minecraft (java) doesn’t work on this. You can download the launcher, but every time you try to launch the game it crashes. 😔
Can it run zoom?

Cloud gaming works great on this computer.
whatching this on a surface pro x lol it gets the job done for me hehe
I’m so heartbroken 🙁 I love the design and the display so much
Oh well, I still use my Microsoft surface RT 1st gen
Do you think that the next Surface Pro 8 will have this design?
I’m afraid I will be a Surface Pro 7 user for some time — but the ‘X’ case is gorgeous.
SPX needs a second look with windows 11. Using it right now and it’s pretty fantastic
I agree. I’m heartbroken that Microsoft is so close yet so far. Even with their newer SQ2.
Now, hear me out here. Imagine this laptop, but with a carbon fibre reinforced keyboard for stiffness, and Intel processors so all your apps run. Could be a great idea.
Cool Machine, like the first NVidia Power 1st gen Surface.…can’t get a Antivirus Program to run on it but there are no nasty bugs compiled for it..so pretty isolated from nasty things out there.…
is verge HQ in Oakland????
yeah i get the the surface pro series have inherited the old design, but tbh if you did not know what the older models had the same look as the 7 pro you would not have cared.
Hi there can anyone help I’m after the surface pro x but can 64bit software be installed on it under windows 11 as people say it can
Thank you again, Dieter. You’re the BEST out there. I’ll wait on this purchase and continue using my iPad Pro for LightRoom, et al…
the windows logo reflection at 8:26 is accidental genius…
Stopped at “.…I wish there was an external SD card slot.” FAIL. WTF Microsoft.
So Adobe won’t work on it?
Can this be used for gaming?
we miss you Dieter
what a awsome review🔥🔥
Ain’t it so fun to see these reviews in a later year.
iPad M1 is an ARM chip-based tablet. This M1 tablet beats any intel-based tablet by a wide margin. MS is correct to use ARM processors in surface Pro X and beyond to anticipate the future. Software for ARMx64 is more abundant today in 2022 than in 2019 when the video was made. Yes, Pro X SQ2 can run Photoshop native ARMx64 version.
Talking about headphone jacks really doesn’t age well considering anything new in 2020 didn’t have a headphone jack
