Google Stadia, Google’s new cloud-gaming platform, has had a ton of hype and made promises. Well it’s finally here, in some form at least. With only a handful of games and a handful of compatible devices, a lot of its promised features aren’t available at launch. Dan Ackerman takes Stadia for a spin and sees what it’s like on day one.

IS THERE ANY PC REQUIRMENT???
You’re complaining about hooking the system up. You’re literally playing games without having a game for 150 dollars whenever you want what’s everyone expecting? It to teleport them into 10 years and the future
I loveeeee Dan Ackerman’s video voice. I wanna hear him talk till I fall asleep. Soooo relaxing.
can we play android games on PC?????
can we play android games on PC?????
can we play android games on PC?????
can we play android games on PC?????
No offense, but this isn’t a product anyone wants or needs. So I can basically play a dumbed down version with more input lag, not as good graphics, and worse frame rate? Why? Why? Why would I ever want to do that? I’ll stick with my Xbox One.
Recap :
Tomb raider
- it’s working
- seems decent
- not as great as xbox one x
- a bit stuttering
Destiny
- a bit better than tomb raider
- a couple little stutters
On pixel phone:
- plastic clip quite strange
- smoother on smaller screen
- pretty responsive
- as good as handheld ( ex. Switch )
Additional comment :
Tomb raider and destiny .. not a new game
Me:
IDK.. seems okay and not one sided. But maybe they just don’t wanna go too harshly on the comment. But they did not mention anything regarding pricing availability and many many things..
I mean the title is correct, it is indeed first impression
🤦🏽♂️ what a joke
This sounds more like an Ad for Stadia than a review.
CNET has been compromised by the oligopoly. Integrity rating = 0
Any lag in thr games or not?
I have GEFORCE now
It runs amazing, no delay, and good graphics
He really didn’t test it out. Go on online and play a multiplayer match. Let’s see the performance!
5 Reasons why this is not worth your time and money
1. it looks really cheap, fragile Cheap
2. the controller is not unique.… looks like a ps3 buttons layout on a xbox controller
3. setting it up a hassle ‚not a plug and play like most consoles
4. huge “F*** this trash!” lag
5. cant charge phone while playing with the controller
My favorite reviewer.
Please don’t let this guy do more reviews. He’s terrible.
If this out 10 years ago and everyone had lightning fast internet connections…
The thing he didn’t cover was the load in screen. How long did it take to load in. Tomb Raider was loaded and ready to play. He didn’t talk about how many games are available vs you pay the $59 game just for stadia only.
Hey Google! It’s gonna fail hahahshahhshshshsbdhdhdjnd dudjdj
“Ouja is the worst console ever created” — Google — “hold my beer”
Uhmmmm. That’s a lot of connecting ..
I stopped the video at 1:27
Regardless if Stadia is good or not, this is the future of gaming. With the addition of a Netflix like subscription type service. Can’t wait to see what Microsoft is doing with X Cloud.
Professional review. Thanks for it.
Stadia support is the worst experience I’ve had in my life!
I have no way to track my issue, I have had to wait in multiple 1000 person queues, I’ve spoken with first-line support whose basically just a message taking service on numerous occasions across the last 24 hours, I am unable to speak to anyone who is willing to take ownership of my issue, there is no way to speak to a manager or directly with 2nd line support.
I have been told to keep the line open and someone will call in an hour, only to receive a blank call with no one the end of the phone
I’ve spoken to refunds, who are happy for me to leave as a customer, even though I started all I want is my account to be reactivated. They couldn’t care less if I was a customer or not.
So I’m sat here unable to access my account, unable to play stadia having paid more than £200… I feel ripped off, I feel my worth to you as a customer is none existent, I feel exhausted and stressed and now in my mind the brand Stadia means nothing but Pain!
I’ve wasted hours and hours of my time on the phone, not slept waiting for call back that never comes.
This from a world-class leading company??
I’m going to make sure as many people as possible get to hear about this atrocious experience, and do my best to warn them all to stay away from Stadia!!
Let’s be honest here.…. the only people doing this are Destiny 2 vets that want to play their accounts anywhere. No one cares about damn Tomb Raider.
Internet in Africa is expensive.. they are saying bye to over 2billlion potential users
This sucks.
Stadia is a scam, please don’t waste your money on this garbage. Google lied to us all. I’m glad I didn’t buy into the BS. Almost every promise broken at launch.
This “review” made me laugh 🙄
Can’t wait to play games from hottest games from 2015.
Google Boasted with specs to be more powerful than Xbox one X and PS4 pro combined. Still those consoles give a clean image.
Cloud gaming is DOA. When Google walks away from this too, and they will, what will, everyone do with a pointless controller? Credibility takes a hit here. You should be warning everyone to avoid this in its current form like all other credible reviewers.
No thanks
Please never say Her name again
He says its ok and kinda good but you see him not turning his camera when he walks and that tells me how bad the input lag is.
If you want to know the truth about Stadia, check out Gamers Nexus review. Cnet is a joke and this video is why I’m unsubscribed. I guess this is just a shill channel now.
Does it work on android phones too?
That lag was bad looking! Can you imagine a vs online match???? Ugh terrible!
Just waiting on a bigger catalog
what was the fighting game in the mob.…?
I’m watching this and its showing you play the game visible and controller visible. I can see almost 3/4 second delay from controller input until it appears on screen. If that’s going to be the case I’ll be opting out and just keep spending $100 every time I want to play a new game. That kind of lag would make 90% of the games out there unplayable for me.
