While I don’t have an issue with your review per say, Your title is completely off base. You state, ” The best television you can buy”. BS. Anyone that knows anything about TVs, knows there are far better tvs. Sony A9G and LG C9 just to name a couple.
Uh huh. What about reliability??????? Quality Control????? Cannot beat a Sony
TCL has by far the poorest quality control issues. Its the worst when viewing something in fast motion. The picture quality is good when viewing programs that doesn’t involve action pack scenes. And its off angle and reflection is bad. Why would you compromise when just get the Vizio M series, its the best value price option to get into Quantum technology.. keep it simple. for $500/65” budget conscious the top tvs are Vizio M series > TCL 6 series > Samsung 6k, 7k series. If you must go Samsung, get the Q8 series or up. Enjoy your tv.
No comment on sound reproduction and quality.?
So, the LG is second because of a price that is actually worth the level of quality? To be fair, I think this would be updated post Black Friday discounts. The LG B9 series are now under $2,000 specially marked at around $1,700 on Amazon and other sites so that should push it to No.1.
When they add HDMI 2.1 I will get the TCL due to the value proposition, so what 2020?
So the LG is the best set provided you are willing to pay for the best! Yet the TCL wins somehow! Does anyone at CNET have a background in methodology? Anyone!
Hmmm… where is Sony in this comparison?
Sony X950G blows the Vizio and TCL out of the water…and has more accurate color than the Samsung…yet no mention of it here.…hmmmm
A very unfair comparison, compare them with the Qled Samsung and vizio’s p quantum x
Beside lg oled gets horrible display burn.
This is BS! You’re definitely being misled by them. The LG C9 OLED, and also the Samsung QLED, Q90 series sets are among the best! Not to mention Panasonic OLEDs. These set they are demonstrating are all budget sets that are good for their price point, but ABSOLUTELY NOT THE BEST. 😂
You guys should have done a blind test.
I first bought a vizio p series Quantum x 65inch and returned it for a LG B9 OLED. I don’t think anything really compares to OLED at the end of the day. I paid $1599 on Newegg. com so I could not resist.
Once you see OLED’s Blacks, you never go Back.. 😌
My 2nd TV after samsung LED is Roku TCL, that sharp OS and 4K HDR is best in class. TCL no doubt is best bargain.
The soap opera smooth modes are so horrible, wish there was a warning if you can’t turn that off
You guys didn’t pick the “best television”. You picked the best “value” in your opinion. Terrible title to your video.
151 haters and counting lol!! Just got the 6 series qled last month it’s nice but with a few flaws.
any noticeable difference between TCL 65R613 and 65R625??
Bought Samsung 55 inch Q70r for 1 lakh 8 thousand rupees with 7.5 percent cash back that means i got for exactly 1 lakh during Christmas sale with Samsung sound bar worth 22,000 free at Relaince degital
Sony X950G…why compared OLED to these other duds.
Q80-Q90 are far better than the 70 Series
plasma,oled near future pioneer plasmed
Sony A9G dude ?? Come on.. :/
And sony’s?
He called him Katx lol
This is craptastic you chose TVs based predominantly based on price it seems !
Y’all on CRACK ! Best TV image interface and apps price is a non factor your value gives TCL the edge when it can never deliver as amazing an image as LGs OLED your pandering to public opinion and lamen’s instead of being top notch critical reviewers . Plus why does this senior member of CNET need to be shepherded through his review by hip younger Ethnic man 😂 you look ridiculous together . Somewhere out there some idiot is watching this soft headed review thinking his TLC some how bested LG n Samsung none of these TVs even approach what oled delivers and no update or media can fix hardware deficiencies posed by them
picture quality should hold 50% value while scoring and then everything else cam come after that.
When they did the side shots, it is one of the many reasons OLED is superior; all the other tvs washed out.
He kinda looks like Wil Wheaton xD
Very lame review. Of course the OLED won.
They only had to send back 5 TCLs to get one without horrible banding and DSE!😆
woww dave actually picked tvs over VIZIO I CANT BELIEVE IT!
Tcl 625 or the hisense h9f
Definitely going to buy the TCL 6 Series 4K TV 😊👍👍
What about their life span? They say OLED doesn’t keep up with them
No Hisense h9f?
I’m watching this on my LG C9, only to see if it’s on the list.
:update: welp, it ain’t.
If you put people in front of all tvs and let them choose picture before finding out brands or price 100% will pick an OLED I have tested this multiple times and OLED will always win. You can also see and OLED from literally every angle possible.
I see LG OLED won then 2nd very close was TCL. the new TCL r625 looks great and better then the R615 in the video, even more close to the LG
No Sony it’s a no go for me.
My Samsung Ultra HD series 7… only 3 years
Now only half pictures the other become black ( horizontal ) in the right side.…disappointed
C’mon guys!! Not one word about audio quality which in my experience, can vary widely from TV to TV. I’ve heard some, including some hi priced models that were buzzy and barely intelligible. I don’t expect Hi-Fi from a flat Screen TV but it would have been nice to know which were better than others. Having to add an expensive sound bar can negate any savings on a TV.
A
Your review almost sold me. Then I went to Amazon to read owner reviews. Why is there such disparity in reviews?
Please compare tcl 6 series to hisense h9g 55″
Got 4 tcl at home, 3x55” 4 séries really a great value at 400$ cad and 1x 75″ series wich are amazing for 2000$ cad, for xbox and PlayStation New generation i will wait for next gen tcl for hdmi 2.1 😏👍
screw LG, they suck
