Why do we still have phone numbers? They’re relics of the past and currently, it seems like they cause more harm than good.

#phone #numbers.
This dude is like those people who say “Why do we need cash?” Like seriously phone numbers are pretty improtant
what is the opposite of “ok boomer”? Whoever came up with this idea is so out of touch — do they even have a real job. ok maybe you dont want to receive spam calls, you can use call blocking software or whitelist certain numbers. what do you do if you have to dial 911? what do you do if you order a package and they need to call you. or literally anyone with a landline needs to call you. what do you do if you are camping or in an area without data. etc there are way more reasons to need a number than to get rid of it and claim you can use twitter and skype another apps instead.
Bloody fool
How can I contact you ‚
Not your id
OTP need number.
My addhar is linked to my mobile
I honestly thought this video was gonna go somewhere else with this topic; like assigning people with a their own ipv6 IP or MAC (or whatever is happening now with those identifiers) while still being able to communicate with anyone that still uses a phone number…but oh well. Reading the comments to this video is satisfying none the less.
its like saying pretrol car should die now and move forward to electric cars. Try drive an electric car to a country or rural area without electric station and see how far your car can go. Expected from americans, only live in their own world.
I feel stupid watching this
It’s like asking why do men still have dicks. You don’t have to use it all the time but it’s nice to know it’s there when you need it.
He is locked with one number with one phone.
Dude, not all people subscribes on Internet Plans, Fb, Twitter.
American standard does not represent the world.

I want 1% for my 1 comment 😇
Try dialing 911 from facebook messenger or twitter.….This video reminds me of those persuasive essays from high school where you didn’t have anything to write about so you made something up.
0:45 same as well I don’t use the phone app and as you said in the beginning in the video I don’t need a phone number I could just login to my social media with just my google account (PS : I only use facebook and youtube and instagram I don’t need whatsApp) but the problem is if we don’t have a phone number how could we connect to the Internet if we are in some places that don’t have WIFI. (PS 2 : you need to use cellular data) So this is the reason why you should have a phone number
Dude clearly does not have any idea about the importance of phone numbers 😒
99% Of ppl in India need phone no for every app on phone. Including FB.
Apple removes phone number Innovation!!!!
And how the hell you use your new INTERNET technology without a carrier which provide you an internet connection via 4g with sim card and number ? You cant carry a wifi router in your pants.
Phone number is funking important for funking marketing and ads and spam, how the hell they add you via messengers like whats app or telegram w/o knowing a number ?
I think social media needs to die.
Also here’s an interesting fact. I have recieved only 8 spam calls in 10 years and 3 of them was due to a prank a friend pulled on me. So making a spam call argument is kinda dumb. If duck/chop monkeys don’t cry for having aids.
Just for this one video i unsubbed from the channel. Tech people(zhournalysts) are starting to become more and more tech for tech rather than tech for people. Modern day dildo phones and the cybertruck are proof of that. Heck, if it wasn’t than i would want to upgrade from a gen 2 prius to a gen 4+ for reasons other than plugin capabilities.
you seem that you don’t know that on every site/app in the internet you have unique identification NUMBER! You need number, the number is one of the best things created because it identifies you as you
Try running a business without a phone number.. Good luck
Mentions Hangouts but not Duo in 2019.. hmm
Sorry Bro, But Phone Numbers ain’t going No where No time soon. 🤷🏽♂️
America seems really weird if you don’t stay there.. phone numbers are tied to a phone and person not a single sim card??
First world problems. Im pretty sure even in first world countries have places that rely on 2g and landline connections. What a closed mind. (Boxed mind).
2019:Why do we even need a phone number?
2021:Why do we need screens?
3019:Why do we need parents to be born?
I think phone numbers are pretty important in most countries. I use regular phone calls more than internet calls. I have 4G connection, but I dont have a lot of date for month that I can use. And pretty much I make a few calls and I used all of my data. So its impractical to use internet for calls. Its only worth it when I’m on a stable wifi connection. And I think many people are in this situation. 🤔
I have an announcement there will be no more phone numbers because… courage!
“Telephone numbers need to die?”.
Goddamn, what a first world problem. I don’t know you, and you might be the nicest guy in person, but damn. The ignorance is really strong with that comment.
This video is wrong at so many levels what about emergency try calling someone on messenger in an emergency what if they have their data turned off (which most people do) it is absurd to have a phone that cant call also you would still need a sim card for mobile data so if you don’t want it just choose a different carrier plan why remove something when it is optional
10% 🤣🤣🤣
Its true that the dialer app on my phone is rarely ever used unless it’s an emergency.
that’s true though I just use the internet and not the phone number, but now every app is asking for phone number verification ==
This guy was probably drunk while making this video.
Business Opportunity in Ruvol
I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”
It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”
The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.
HOW IS RUVOL PLAYED and HOW YOU CAN MONETIZE IT?
I detailed everything in my YouTube video. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqth0m3-R0
BIG MONEY POTENTIAL IN RUVOL!
It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.
You may contact me at: rodolfovitangcol@gmail.com.
Thanks and God bless!

I like never use my real social accounts.. a having a phone number is convenient
We need phone numbers dude.… everyone uses phone numbers and not everyone uses the same social apps theres like a billions social platforms
I see a lot of good points here but I also wouldn’t want to rely on data if I need emergency services. Phone lines are just more reliable.
“Authentification”?
This video should be flagged as “Made for kids” because Tommy Pickles comes up with more well thought, accurate, and peer reviewed discussion than you.
I’ve Had The Same Phone Number Since December 24th Christmas Eve 2004 I Will Be Hihly Upset When They Do Away With Phone Numbers
3:50 Lmao
Agreed with this. Why do I need a country specific phone number to sign in to regional services
