Cruise, the self-driving subsidiary of General Motors, revealed its first vehicle to operate without a human driver, the Cruise Origin. The vehicle, which lacks a steering wheel and pedals, is designed to be more spacious and passenger-friendly than typical self-driving cars. Cruise says the electric vehicle will be deployed as part of a ride-hailing service, but declined to say when that might be.

If you’re not aware that this video is conditioning your mind for something soon to come then here’s your wake up call. Everything will be connected. IoT. Global automation. Digital currency. Fully tracked. Your car will be stopped and locked until the police arrive. Your entire home will be monitored the same as your alarm system is today, my a monitoring service. Your appliances have already been set in place and are recording you, and reporting you. There will be no option to disagree. It will be this way or no way. The data collections of the last decade have created a vast file on you. Your program is ready. Your pod awaits. But there’s still a brief moment…
Great deal!
It could be too radical & too abrupt a change ?
Great design.
All of the data these cars collect are submitted to the DMV every month. The DMV is no where near letting these on the road without someone in some way controlling the car. Just not going to happen.
There have already been accidents, No thank you.
It is the future people. That much is certain.
Except no one wants a to ride backwards
I work for the factory that is going to be making the driveshafts for this car.
A driverless car will never be a viable product in third world countries.
It’s not a driverless car if it does not drive
Um…how do they package airbags with seats facing each other? I’d like to see the NHSTA crash test results.
Where are we on this after 18 months of this post?
Prefiero chófer humano
I sat in this thing.
Cool design where will the airbags be
Whose here after the federal government no longer requires a steering wheel for driverless cars?
It’s useless in India, where people honk and ready to fight if this vehicle runs that slow
4IR is here…
I know an even more effective method: The bus.
I dont want share my rides with others. TBH thats why i like to have my own car. Hope they will provide options for ppl
I can’t wait to see these things in action. I would also love to see eight-seater and nineteen-seater options.
Front rows will be three seater and the back rows will be four seater.
Also, make these things float/drive on water and fly in the air.
Using driverless cars for public transport is exactly what I want, it would also be great if I had the option to buy a smaller one just for myself. But these only make sense to me as public transport, if you put them in places that don’t have it.
I live in an area with no taxis, maybe 3 Ubers, and no public transport. This is the kind of area where it would really help to have a ton of these.
Never thought this would come to fruition. Now I have seen these on the streets of mt city. Waiting to come up on a waiting list and try this out.
I don’t feel comfortable with this idea someone’s gonna hack in like China or North Korea and those robot cars are going to turn into terminator robots taking out everyone I can especially see that happening with North Korea and China, and a little bit of Russia too.
When the vehicle becomes disoriented the controller should ask a licensed passenger to move the vehicle to a safe location. Cruise can compensate you rather than have you sit in traffic waiting for them to dispatch a driver.
So um. Self Driving cars so far. By numbers actually crash more than drivers do in America.. 9% for self driving, as human drivers in are at 3% of drivers in accidents.
