Can a smart ring hold clues to the early detection of COVID-19? A new study at the University of California, San Francisco is using the Oura ring to collect metrics such as body temperature in the hope of building an algorithm that can predict the onset of the coronavirus.

Had no idea BS can run hot or cold.
Bruh why are people salty it’s April fools.
They make thermometers already. And Fitbits.
Where can we get that??
Sheep
Good idea 💡
My fingers are as cold as an empty stainless steel toiletpaper shelf.
I actually wish the Apple Watch can detect covid19.
Dang❗️I know it’s April Fools, but still, you guys joking about COVID-19 at a time like this❓😳👉🦠
“The lnvisible Rainbow” explains how current technologies are not good for human health.
i hope it be meaningful
They can’t make a Smart antidote?
nice joke lexy 🙂
You need a ring to tell you how you feel? Please tell me this is not reality
Can you say MOOD ring?
This would be a breakthrough and a horrible April fools joke
😂
Good April Fools Prank!
Very bad technology. For example there is no way using using a limb like a hand is the best place to take a temperature. Heart rate and sleep are early signs infections
Reminding you, Today is 1st April
That Harpreet Rai guy is attractive af.
But I hope this is able to save lives! We need an easy way to detect this virus.
Spoiler: whole content is an advertisement
Lexy are you Greek?
Thanks for watching! Just to be clear, even though this video was published today, this is NOT an April Fool’s joke. The research being done by UCSF will go through peer review after the 3‑month study is completed and is very important. That is awesome!!! Stay safe everyone!!!
Thanks for volunteering Lexy. It is my contention that our collective efforts will cause the COVID-19 virus to fade away and we can get on with our lives and hopefully find a vaccine before it re-emerges. Stay well and keep that social distance!

Health has nothing to do with it, didnt a woman that runs 15 marathons a year just have it.
Maybe for you guys.…
But as for me, no thank you!
Lol good try lol
i still work full time at a pharmacy retail. I need this ring!
It’ll collect people’s data and unanimously send it for the use of health business and corporations to manipulate cost and politics play!!!
Where is the battery, how is it charged and how long does the battery last?
Intriguing.
Stay safe. Stay home.
Spread the love — NOT THE VIRUS!
Interesting, but how long can this ring run on a single charge? I guess the battery is really small.
Remember the iCure from Plague Inc?
Suomi mainittu! Torilla tavataan! Eiku eihän sinne voikaan mennä…
Can you please ask UCSF if they could please add sensors to also detect blood pressure, heart rate variability, ECG channel (may need a second ring on the other hand) respiratory rate and oxygen saturation. It would be of great benefit to doctors and patients; great for detecting change in clinical condition and seek treatment at an earlier stage; saves lives and saves medical costs! Great presentation. Thanks.
Oura ring is a great platform for this, I wonder if something like a future product from pavlok could include the same features. Being able to prepare for the unknown is better than no plan at all.
POLICE STATE SPY APP ON EVERY PHONE. COVID-COUP TRACKING
Once you are about to have symptoms, you’re basically f’d. People are selfish, they won’t stay home. Especially front line workers that get minimum sick pay, they will see it as a sacrifice and keep working.
This is neat, but wouldn’t chips in our necks be easier?
Useless … it is already an established fact that the incubation period for SARS-COV2 is 10–14 days, during which most people are asymptomatic AND potentially contagious. Even after getting the bug, upwards of 40% remain asymptomatic, while also being highly contagious. In both instances, the ring is useless. Also, anytime you wash your hands in hot water it’s gonna trip false positives on the sensor.
Useless + Useless = Useless
No think you some way are another this will be mandatory by low this virus is man made for this reason the government wants to know every thing you do it’s all about control.
Can the ring send a sos
