Plz don’t write “First comment” comments. Thank you
My problem isn’t speed, it’s reliability
Buffering Wihle watching this
Again confusing wifi reception with internet speeds…
Wifi Extended it’s not good idea because both internet get slow internet traffic problem don’t use third-party devices for wifi extender use one system like Cisco or netgear for example netgear orbi router + satellite tower
1:55 looks so unsafe 🤮😰
“if you buy your own faster modem talk to your service provider“
That’s the wrong way to think about it. What you should do is call your service provider and say “hey, I’m paying for this amount of megabits per second but this modem you gave me x years ago can’t achieve that speed so I either want a new one for free or I’m going to change provider”. Watch how quickly that new free modem arrives.
I would actually argue against wiring up a non 4K Apple TV with a Ethernet cable. My Apple TV speeds are faster over WiFi. This is because Apple did not opt for a gigabit Ethernet port on Apple TV’s before the latest 4k version
Buy a Plash Speed
how to increase speeds.…..HARD-WIRED
You have an apple TV, Roku AND Shield? Girl…
tell me something i dont know
Good pointers on router placement, Iyaz Ahktar, & I do agree that hard wiring devices (like a game console is ideal to reduce latency).
However, Wi-Fi Extenders are never a good idea since data is relayed from you to the extender then gets passed to your main router. This is not great for network reliability so hard pass on this (should be) obsolete tech. (Research: Extenders vs Mesh Routers for more info.)
A better solution for a large home would be a Mesh Network Router (which have gone down in price). I’ve set up a TP-Link’s Deco (pack of 3, under $90) for my friend’s 2‑story/5‑bedroom home with great success. There are other similar products in the market now like D‑Link’s Covr.
In a nutshell, a mesh network works like cell towers, you are automatically linked to the Mesh Router closest to you & you’ll be automatically passed to another one as you move around your home without any connection hiccups (the same can’t be said with Extenders). Just fyi.
Get a good modern and Mesh system
I’ve read somewhere that positioning the antennae at an angle to each other can also help with signal strength. If i recall correctly the reason was that with that angle the waves reflects trough different paths. Increasing the chance the signal reaches your devices.
How much does this matter when everyone is streaming now due to COVID-19 lockdown? My “perfect setup” went from 260Mb/s to 30. Think this guy’s advice will help solve my problems?
@ubiqiti forever
I am surprised you didn’t mention mesh networks..
Wtf y’all be getting speeds over 100mb, come to Australia and get about 20–30mb 😍😍😍
All that and no talk of Mesh Wifi?
iyaz you missed 1 a major PLA for hard to reach spots rather than a just a wifi extender as it halves your speed
no wifi mesh system? ??????
I use CELLULAR network
Wow omg! No way! my game took 60 minutes to install instead of 1 hour.
Didn’t say nothing new.
1:40 Get faster Wi-Fi speeds = “use wire connection” 🙂
It’s 100% right, but very funny with this video description.
No service for a few weeks? I think your provider did it wrong. I setup my Orbi system with AT&T Internet service in San Diego and it took an hour at most. The phone call itself took 5 min. Just had to read my serial number to my Orbi to the representative and I was done.
That service provider thou 👌🏾
Asus routers are the fastest.…
