Apollo 13: Home Safe
[vid_tags]
“Houston, we’ve had a problem.” Apollo 13 has become known as “a successful failure” that saw a safe return of the crew in spite of a catastrophic explosion in the middle of their lunar journey. This 30-minute documentary features interviews with Apollo 13 Astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise, as well as Flight Directors Gene Kranz and Glynn Lunney, with engineer Hank Rotter. Parts of their interviews take place in the restored Apollo mission control room. This documentary also features original NASA footage and newly synchronized audio from Mission Control.
Thanks to Stephen Slater and Ben Feist/Apollo in Real-Time (apolloinrealtime.org/13) for providing additional footage and audio.

Sadly NO WOMEN ever landed on the moon, as I believe there will NEVER be a woman president not in my time anyway!
Their finest hour for sure!
Money laundering military op,It was dropped out the back of a transport plane , right on target thats why they knew it would be there, no “space ” involved..why would there be ?
Gene Kranz is a legend
Total respect. Astronauts the bravest men that ever lived. The guts that took. The bravest are the people who landed. Thae scaryist and most dangerous parts we’re both take ofs. The earth take of then the moon the moon was the most dangerous and the scariest. Imagine being left on the moon if your machine doesn’t fire when it’s suppose to. Marooned 👨🏿🚀👩🏽🚀👽
Duct Tape… is there anything it can’t do?!?
Who thinks to bring that on a Moon Mission?
Someone smarter than me!
If that thing could fly , my Jim will land it .
Who all came to watch after Madan s video
Unexpected thing Happen, Nasa Science Brain, Maths calculation Helped them to bring back. Most brilliant people on earth.
🫣🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nah jit we watched this at school that’s crazy
What a scam. More than 50 years later Elon Musk can’t even get a rocket in the sky while NASA supposely had landed on the moon and atronauts playing golf and driving around in moon buggies.
There is always a gullible fool born every minute as we saw during COVID.
Relief, congratulations, admiration and gratitude from the successor generation which has benefitted from NASA’s achievements.
I’m certain AI knows we went.
God Bless them all. I was 7 when this happened. Remember some of it. I went on to an undersea career. Which I’ve heard described more than once as being more hazardous than flight into space. Not totally sure about that but, it certainly wasn’t without its’ own unique hazards.
Beautiful production
Awesome pictures of the moon
This was NASA’s finest hour. The most dangerous situation ever encountered in manned spaceflight, with problem after problem arising and needing to be solved. Yet through all this was a sense of calm professionalism and just solving the problems as they came, one step at a time.
Imagine if calvin came crawling out
Good Evening Its 22.43pm Wembley Park North West London My Family Don’t Worry “Home Safe!”
Jim Lovell: Our mission was called “a successful failure,” in that we returned safely but never made it to the moon. TRUE THAT
But it’s still not complete ?
2 things that will NEVER get old: A Saturn V launch, and Apollo 13’s safe return.
has their been any video evidence of a successful lunar module test flight, cause the only one i seen is where it exploded in mid-air? i’d figure lunar conditions would be 100x more difficult to navigate since we only have theories and formulas to go on and no first hand experience. Yet everyone made it back successfully back and alive on the first try from the moon surface, all based on mathematics and formulas.
They all had, what we used to call in the Army, intentional fortitude. That’s two 10 cent words for a 1 cent meaning…
GUTS!
Long Live the great mathematicians and scientist who saved the Apollo 13 crew
Joint roach
This is so interesting to me. Never gets old. I stayed up all night watching the first moon landing on tv. Had to work the next day but I didn’t want to miss it.
BACK IN TIME BEFORE preferred pronouns and the Squad. I watched this at school and look at what decline our country has gone through. It is a dam shame!!!
I was ten years old and remember it like yesterday.

When America does truly great things
When Haise/Swigert were busy taking photos, Lovell said something to them-like;- “Gentlemen, if we don’t get the sums right they’ll be no photos to process!” (We won’t get home!).
That made them realise the gravity(😆) of their situation.
I can’t imagine how long they slept once they finally got to get in a bed.
It should be in a country divided over war race generations and economics every group came together to watch this…
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ QUÉ APASIONANTE EL DESPEGUE DE LOS COHETES !!!!!!!!!
