It is fas­ci­nat­ing to see this about a cul­ture so unknown. But these arkies are doing what arkie every­where do — project that so much of the cul­tures were about reli­gion and cer­e­monies. The archae­ol­o­gists of the past lived in a world dom­i­nat­ed by church­es, and they assumed that all past cul­tures were sim­i­lar­ly dom­i­nat­ed by reli­gion and rit­u­als. And today;s archae­ol­o­gists accept these assump­tions and repeat the same dri­v­el. This gets real­ly old, and it makes archae­ol­o­gy a non-sci­ence. It should be list­ed as a bunch of his­to­ri­ans. C14 dat­ing? That is done by labs, not arkies. The rest of archae­ol­o­gy besides dat­ing things is a com­par­a­tive dis­ci­pline, look­ing at qual­i­ties of things and inter­pre­ta­tions of those things. And a super major prin­ci­ple is that ear­ly cul­tures were dom­i­nat­ed by reli­gion, by pow­er­ful priests. Since these arkies are our inter­preters of the past, through the eyes of reli­gious believ­ers car­ried from the 18th and 19th and 20th cen­turies, we will nev­er know the past until reli­gion is removed from archaeology

I’ve a ques­tion. In the part of this that showed the tun­nels under the walls, could not help but notice that parts of the tun­nel shown, as you guys walked through it looked as though some parts were more reflec­tive of the light that came in through the ends than oth­ers. What are the pos­si­bil­i­ties that some of if not all of the walls were reflec­tive at one time because they were pol­ished? Much like the exte­ri­or stones on the pyra­mids of Sinai?
