Ditch Zoom for these video chat apps

Zoom is still the most popular video calling services out there right now, but with Google Meet now being free, Facetime’s ease of use, and Skype’s many Zoom like features, Zoom has some competition.

i think companies like Google, Microsoft… etc paid these ppl to talk this
Any app instead of zoom, good video 👍😋
Zoom just works, and it does it with high quality. But it should be overlooked that it is a business solution and not a consumer product. Means it comes with an ecosystem of video endpoints and apps. The main competitors are WebEx and Teams and not Facetime. Google just stopped developing their product (as usual) and Skype is not intended to be a business product
Where is Cisco’s Webex? It’s one of the best end-to-end encrypted video chat options that supports windows, iOS, and android.
Skype
We always prefer for Free services.
I use Vectera for business meetings and meeting with web design clients.
TEAMS ftw !!!!
I like Google Duo although it can get a bit packed at times.
I like Zoom as it’s quite easy to use but only appears to do portrait on an iPhone.
I haven’t tried Google Meet yet but I’ve been told its very good.
I have had Skype for years but not used it a lot until recently and still don’t use it a lot.
Zoom is terrible! Google meet is free now and so much better for a lot of reasons
Google owned by Google.
Skype owned by Microsoft.
Facetime owned by Apple.
Zoom owned by chinese guy who’s made billions in the last 3 months.
GREAT JOB !!!!!
Due is nice . Webex slow and picky. Microsoft apps teams and skype both app problems. Gotomeeting worse and worse. Zoom is fine for what it is everything is different and they pretty much have the beat video and ease of use. For that zoom blows away competition
Jitsi-meet is my choice. Free, Open Source, optionally you can host your own servers, no accounts needed for users and end to end encrypted.
Zoom free was picked-up for comparison to be comparing apples to apples. However Google Meet free version doesn’t have recording unless you are an Enterprise GSuite customer. Google meet is good in many ways but featurewise is not the best atleast in it’s current form.
Facetime
You forgot to mention, you don’t need a Google account to join a Meet session. Only the host needs to login to schedule (or create) a Meet session and email / invite the other participants. Also, on PCs & Macs it’s all done thru the web browser. No app to install.
You did well on your first video. Thanks for the content.
Thank you so much! I live in low-income housing here in San Francisco. We were looking for video chat for all of our residents and all three buildings. A lot of disabled or elderly. The OnePlus is they all have Android lifeline assistance phones. This will be a lot easier for everyone to use. Your video is great by the way. Make more!
Would have been more useful if the focus was completely on platform agnostic services.
Zoom is DOOMed
Jitsi — it’s open source, no sign up needed. You can run your own private server if you want (but you don’t have to). Apps for Android and iOS, and you can use a browser on laptops.
I want the aloha shirt you are wearing in the Facetime segment! What brand is it?
u did good! keep it up
You forgot to mention Google duo you can do family calls with Google Duo
Google Duo works with
BOTH iOS & Android OS.
Prefer Skype and Google duos
What people are not taking into consideration is the Identity Hack of handing over their face, their voice, and their social networks and contacts to Zoom.
Total loss of privacy, and great increase in personal and financial risks…
Which free video sharing app for Android is best for small number of musicians to play and record together ( not bothered about going live publicly). Which ones dont have time synchronising issues? Thanks
I use Skype for the online music classes I give. I am curious to see how Google Meet would work for me.
Zoom looks best
My college : “No I don’t think I will”
zoom has had a free version forever, the only limitation is 40 min
Mitchell: “This is my first video in front of the camera.“
Me: “Are you sure, Mitchell? You did a great job; keep up the good work!”
You did a good job for your first time in front of the camera. Should try it a bit more.
Google duo is great cuz it doesn’t matter the device.
Cheers for the info, really useful. Want to try meet and Skype, but facing resistance from friends who are already zoom converts. Couldn’t tell that this was your first video. Thought you did a good job, your voice was nice and clear and easy to listen to. Content was great.
Don’t forget to use Discord
Microsoft Teams?
Everyone should already know about Skype lol
