Love this mini series
WTF?! “They were all Americans”?! They literally REBELLED against the U.S. to NOT BE AMERICANS! Way to white wash and sugar coat history’s monsters. smh
Lee was a racist. He was no icon except to racists.
“At the end of the day they were all Americans”. Are we sure about that? One side were literal traitors to America.
Terrible human, excellent general
wish he would have never surrendered. this country couldve been so great
Lee blew it for the south. He made some very bad mistakes.
Let’s not forget, Arlington National Cemetery was Lee’s plantation
I can’t find it on the history channel
Love history …my best subject in high school, and 1st year of University …American history, quite fascinating
Can’t see em if you can’t smell em. Faux can’t can’t can’t feuxin stupid gtfo
Where can I watch the full Grant Story I just finished the book.
It was not the court, I was a private farm that by the way that is where also the conflit began , I am amazed by the History channel
This Lee guy is such a loser LOL
Seeing Petraues talk about REAL American heroes and real American men really makes me sick of that guy.
Why sully such a great documentary on General Grant with this adulterous sniveling worm?
Lee surrendered,… the 6th January traitors will never surrender,…
2 am history videos when I got English homework due tmr morn I love it
General Lee

1:02 BS focus was on the Lost Cause lie.
I do not care for Lee’s views of course, but it is undeniable that both him was an amazing militar strategist; people often forget the confederate were only 5 million (only considering white people who of course are the ones who would fought for their cause) whilst the Union was of 22 million.
Bit off topic, but I’ll never forget hearing Bill Murray do a live reading of a comedic short story about Appomattox. Basically, Grant’s aide has to rouse him out of a drunken stupor by telling him “Sir, we need to go to the surrender ceremony.” Grant nods, gets dressed and stumbles into the meeting room where he says to Lee “Well, General Lee, it was a hard fight, but fair is fair. We surrender.”
(It sounds funnier coming out of Bill Murray, I assure you).
Someone gotta win Someone gotta lose

BS, RE Lee was a traitor who took up arms against the USA. He fought for a horrible cause on the wrong side of history. It’s about time all his statues and monuments are coming down. Over a century too late.
Richard Dreyfuss ? Lol
Four words: GO TO AMERICANA, BRAZIL.
If people only knew the truth.
The lies continue and leaving out valuable information.
Grant was a drunk.
Lee was offered to command either sides but as a Virginian he fought for the south.
Jefferson Davis and Robert E Lee should’ve both been charged with treason and open armed rebellion along with all the other coconspirators. Had they been imprisoned or hanged, America wouldn’t be having so many problems with white supremacists.
A living racist deity
God bless the confederate states of America
Was Lee whipped?? I thought he was hung and whipped. I could be wrong.
‘are ya gonna pull out ya pistols or are you gonna sing Dixie?!’.…..
I’m not signing it again! Might as well fight till we are dead then the the ones of us in the future won’t be born to have to find out what pieces of paper say! Lol

Thank you very much for this upload!🇺🇸👍👍
Rn castellano hablado 😡😈🇨🇱
I am sickened by how certain elements continue to praise Lee. I was pleased indeed when the Black Lives Matter demonstrators removed his statues from public places in the South in cities like Atlanta.
He was a traitor and slave owner. I’m glad that Arlington is now owned by our federal government and no longer in the hands of the Lee or Custis families..
IM A SOUTHERNER AT HEART !! ALL EXCEPT FOR SLAVERY
Test
Loved the series, but Richard Dreyfus can hardly be considered a credible historian. What’s next ?
Maybe we’ll see him credited as a marine biologist/Great White Shark expert in some documentary. 😄
I just do not like that American general at the end who on a BBC show said he had never registered to vote so i never watch anything with him in it and do not continue him patronic over it …
Lee didn’t have to surrender at Appomattox. There’s a Johnny Cash sing about that, he could have chosen to fight one more battle. To go down fighting but this would have caused tens of thousands of casualties on both sides.
Lee decided it wasn’t worth and surrendered
Lee wasnt a warrior but a traitor and a slaver
