Routines for Google Assistant let you control multiple smart home gadgets at once, get info about your calendar or the weather, play music or podcasts, and more. These versatile grouped commands are fully customizable and can be programmed to give custom responses as well.
We dive into the routines feature and take a look at custom commands and responses. Routines will work on any device with Google Assistant, including the Google Home smart speaker, the Nest Hub smart displays, smart phones and tablets.

Aye
uhm, what is that iPhone screen??
It gets to know you so well you start finishing each other’s … sandwiches.
How is that a hidden feature
Stop normalizing listening devices.
This isn’t exactly a hidden feature
Super cool
So what was the hidden tricks!?
All I saw was the normal features.
I preffer my Logitech Harmony Elite remote over voice controlled crap.
It controls my lights and everything I need
Alexa is miles ahead and always will be.
I haven’t really use the custom commands because I found it hard to get used to with google.
It was a similar thing with she who should not be named.
I wish the nest mini sounded like an echo.
I like Google assistant way more than Alexa.
😘😘
Thanks for muting you saying hey Google. My whole house didn’t go off
yet you still cannot get it to respond to only your voice
Great video.👍
how is this useful, its just meh
Doesn’t work consistently. No way to debug complex scripts
Immediately like for blocking out the hotword
I wouldn’t call routines ‘hidden’ as much as ‘poorly designed to be found easily’.
We don’t use too many routines, but my wife loves the one that I set up for when we go to bed. It turns on the stairway and 2nd-floor hall light, turns off all other lights, turns off all the TVs, and locks the front door. The routine leaves the master bedroom lights unchanged in case one of us is already in there.
Other than that, I personally haven’t’ found too much use for them. Google already controls almost all of the lights, thermostats, and several outlets and it didn’t seem like there was too much of a need to combine many of them. Google has built-in programming that if I say ‘turn off master bedroom lights’, it knows which lights to shut off without having to create a routine because it knows what room (master bedroom) and what type of device (lights). No need to group. If I hear strange noise, I can tell Google to turn on all lights and the entire house gets lit up like an airport, including the outside lights.
Great for newbies, thanks!
Thank you so much for the phone number you entered made me smile and now the song is stuck in my head.

What you on about, routines are not ‘hidden’
Much appreciated. Looks like Routines is more robust then when I first checked them out.
What’s the hidden feature?
How is this hidden? Theres a giant routines button in the Home app begging to be used.
Nice to see that cool smart watch rather than an Apple Watch on a tech reviewer
This video isn’t about a hidden trick at all. You don’t fool me any more!
It doesn’t work
Mess mini
What phone is that? Looks like an iPhone with home button but the forehead looks smaller compared to the chin which is not how iphones are?
Hey Google, is it time for the kids to go to bed?
“Yes, it’s bedtime. Do what your dad says.“
But my favorite, uses IFTT. All my kid has to do is “Hey Google, tell dad blah blah blah.“
And I’ll get a notification on my phone, “blah blah blah” or whatever my kid wanted to tell me. 🙂
Yea… This isn’t a hidden feature… at all.
My favourite clickbaity headline…
audio needs some improvement
I can use it as my wingman. with a girl “hey google, put on sexytime music” “oh you brought home ABOTHER girl this week”
This isnt hidden, its just called a feature
Great video, I have a question is there a limit on how many routens you can make ?
My google home is hide in a box because it was replaced by alexa
A smart and helpful video.
Amazon! Supplies what not for you?
Thats a whole lot of commanding on your own for an inauthentic experience.
are you dumb say up up down down left right left right ba start twice you unlock a secret
Nest mini is crap, spoken or time scheduled routine’s never work, neither does family bell❗I might as well cut the cord off it and use it as a paper weight.. Can’t even cast my YT music mixes to it,as of 6 weeks ago👺
Nice
