The Energy Observer set sail on a six-year world tour in 2017, testing new technologies, from onboard hydrogen electrolysis to fully-automated sails. It’s hoped the rugged ocean environment will prove the techs’ durability and usefulness at home.

Good try ‑forever oil & gas grasping at straws. T.E.S.l.A. is it. As far as wind tech, look up flowerturbines …
If this is using seawater what happens to the Chlorine that is also produced. The Chlorine will kill all sea life in sea from the used water that is expelled. This really is a stupid idea. Imagine if massive wind farms are used offshore to produce hydrogen. This will kill massive amounts of sea life. The seas will become barren. Yep a daft idea. The fact is the oil industry uses electrolysis in offshore plants to kill marine life in the machine cooling water.
LMAO LATER.. GREAT JOB GUYS..
Toyota VERY GOOD..I MYSELF LIKE HONDA’S.. STILL GREAT JOB GUYS..
Why can the electrolysis process happen right on board any vehicle? What about Stan Myers Dune buggy in the late 1970s?

Sailing will be green and cool in the future… less battery maybe means it may fly short distance too?… a short land tours
Hydrogen maker is essential on ships..
I’m guessing the photovoltaic electricity from the solar panel is injected into the water separating one H from H2O creating HHO which will provide the energy for the motor to run and charge the battery
I wonder if these hydrogen powered sail vessels could be built to scale, to revolutionise the sea-freight industry by replacing tanker ships with a series of barges pulled along by a hydrogen powered sail-ship which derived most of its energy from seawater. The ideal green-minded solution.
Come bring this technology to Florida. It will bring jobs and we are surrounded by water plus Florida has really good infrastructure with no ststes taxes. Just educate the people when they think hydrogen they think the f**** blimp
I love this ship sooo much!!
Saltwater into fuel 2 on a youtube search, hydrogen creation from saltwater using opposing HF radio waves set to the nuclear magnetic resonance of sodium, from the equivalent energy that powers five 75W light bulbs
once it’s battery’s are full it .….….. why make hydrogen if you can just sail the boat a bit faster to make use of all that incoming solar electricity.….……or just use the space and weight of the complete hydrogen installation for some extra batteries.… Keep It Simple
2:05 take the h out of the h2o with the help of a little electricity.….. a little electricity, really?
2:45 before the sails hydrogen could only be produced when the ship was laying still.…. so when sailing all solar was used for propulsion and no electricity available for hydrogen.
Conclusion is that is would be more efficient likely to sail with sails, have some solarpanels and an electric drive that can also generate electricity when there is enough wind.….……crosses out the need for a complex hydrogen system.
I didn’t powered cars are really not The big one.
Where they should be focusing hydrogen on are planes, and replacing natural gas
H C? Hydro carbon ..🤨
Awesome.
i like this. sarrorow props ? battery bank!
battery bank backup!

HYDRIDE HYDRIDE HYDRIDE Why are they not using a Hydride? MgH2 is safe, stores at room temp & pressure and stores more energy per liter than compressed gas!
I think hydrogen can be used first in heavy industry like steel, concrete, chemical plants, power plants, and eventually aircraft.
I really don’t think hydrogen will make its way into cars much.
Electric cars are starting to become ubiquitous, and they don’t have the fueling issues that hydrogen does. At least for a small vehicle.
Hydrogen makes sense for aircraft, heavy industry, and possibly as an additional fuel as the world grows the next 10 billion people. And as we run out of oil reserves, we need to re-capture that CO2 in the air in the water, while having a suitable backup.
I think we need to look to Germany as a good example
What the Marai needs is hydrogen to be more ubiquitous.
The first step will be developing large scale hydrogen to store renewable power and make it transportable, for use in industries like chemical plants, power plants, steel, cement, and graphene from Trash.
Once hydrogen makes appreciable inroads in the US power mix, then the Marai can takeoff.
It’s a good car, but it needs infrastructure at the end of the day.
Not sure if they’re also using propeller regeneration- but that should be viable.
Youtube “legend” Plukky from Sailing Into Freedom is currently building a cat to do just that and take on the Elcano Challenge — circumnavigate with no “fossil” fuels — Currently building his boat in Vietnam by a giant ship yard. Plus, “Plukky” gives it all a quite humorous and sensitive take on the project!
I support hydrogen technology development
