I prerecorded myself in video meetings for a week (and nobody knew)

Under pressure to create groundbreaking content without leaving my apartment, I designed an experiment to see if I could automate my presence in video meetings for one week without my co-workers or supervisors noticing.

TBH, this is exactly why I anticipate WFH to go back to previous %s within two years. People just are not tremendously productive if they can avoid it and most of us are a lot less self-motivated than we’d like to think.…
Dope!
ironic how the meeting was supposed to be to help create a video but he ended up making this meeting into CNET’s second most viewed video!
“Don’t remember me for this video.”
Second most popular video on the channel*
This is great but how about when you can’t install any software on work PC? How to do this then.…
love this
I thought AI would choose responses from your prerecorded messages when you were called upon, but If I got it right, you had to manually choose from the prerecorded responses in each meeting, thus compelling you to be at each meeting, and so while it’s still very interesting, I’m not sure I really get it.
He spent 36 hours of time on editing to save 1 hour 🤣
We can fake so much!!
High school student here. When I saw this video last year I tried a similar thing where I replaced my webcam with a 5 minute recording of myself sitting in front of the camera to make it look like I was paying attention for online class meetings. Definitely not as advanced as what this guy did here but none of my teachers or classmates ever found out at the time even as I made a clear switch from the recording to my webcam when I had to talk.
However I stopped using it after my Spanish teacher asked a question to me while I was in the bathroom taking a leak and I ended up coming back to my chair to hear her yelling at me. She thought I wasn’t answering because I was listening to music lmao.
Plot twist: THIS ENTIRE VIDEO is prerecorded.
I know I’m not funny
You made real life Sims
Wow does he major in computer science or what?
All they have to do to expose behavior like this is ask each person random questions at random times.
what are you doing instead for that hour where you are not in the meeting?
Just based on the video name I’d have to say the implication is you are completely irrelevant to the business of the business. But, hey, you’re styling yourself as getting away with stuff so in today’s Trumpian nation that makes you a total winner.
Do you have any advice how to host a meeting with myself in realtime to check how to behave in a video meeting without a risk ?
OMG. This is GREAT!
So the only real benefit to this would be so you can sit there wearing no shirt and not have to use your voice. What you REAAAALLLY need is a paid virtual assistant that you train to know your job, who uses a live deep fake overlay and voice synth to pretend to be you for the meeting. They can take notes and brief you on the main talking points of the meeting. A good CGI model with motion capture would work good too. Try it! Would make a great video!
In all honesty, you’d probably get fired for doing something like this, unless you had a really cool boss. lol.
“most of the responses I recorded never even got used“
Dungeonmasters: “First time?”
“You are breaking up a little bit, let me try slacking you” what do you do when you slack him?
2:58 Don’t remember me for this video
13 million people: ok
There’s a program out there that lets you disguise yourself as a character of your choice on video calls. The one I just watched was a cat. Do you know the name of that or where I could find it?
Jesse, you’re absolutely NUTS!!! And I love it. Good job!!
I remember watching this when he wasn’t popular.
This is epic
This will be funnier when you get fired for quiet quitting 🤣
Sort of defeats the point of It if your sitting there watching the meeting anyway lol.
Plot twist: everyone prerecorded their videos 🤭
“Why is that guy always spitting out his coffee?”
Its funny in the 44 person call a few people didn’t have cams on anyway
I mean, often times people don’t realize how easy it is to just be there instead of faking it
Okey I love you 😘
Someone’s been watching Speed.
if it is fast enough to be without any flash on the screen, working online will save more energy and be more fun, and one can save energy to more creative things.
I think make online meetings reactions prerecorded is a good and efficient idea.
GREAT VIDEO.
Apart from the first use case, it was a totally pointless experiment, this so called “automation”
cool!
4:05 the irony 😂
Cool experiment! This is just one more proof that we should be working smarter and more a‑sync
G‑E-N-Y-U‑S
3:45 bottom right person knows something’s up
☝️🤓
lol watched this a while back…
so good.. lol. Wish you had called in as live you during. Maybe even had a little back and forth of approval with yourself
jajajajajaja
Not automated if you have to actually start each clips
