fun fact: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar grew up in Inwood, NY, the same neighbourhood as Lin-Manuel Miranda
Calling Alexander Hamilton a abolitionist is a bit of a stretch.
so the green-back side of the $2 bill is that story. Hamilton is on the $10 think Jefferson is on the $2 so what’s Jeffersons take on the abolition of slavery??? we got Abe on the $5 we kno his take on slavery. but the go to the coinage, Abe is the only all copper coin and his faces the opposite of the rest of the presidents on coins. since all this is about the value of exploited black labor, this money is really belongs to the black people, all the things United States money has purchased too, ask the white lady.
Calling blacks “Patriots” is stretching the word a whole lot.
It’s HISTORY… it is in the past for reason… leave it rhere
Good job
fact that the Moors say is true is American Independence was first recognized by the Red Flag with the 5 Point Star in the middle. 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦. Slave owners consciously knew these black people didnt belong to whites as property. thats the reason why this is a scary subject for whites. most whites, but not all whites.
The “fiery chariot” is from Merkaba mysticism. It’s a poetic attempt to give a physical description of a non-physical transcendent experience. (That comment is addressed to the AD that preceded the video).
How about this little concealed kid bit of History, Europeans started owning slaves in America and in Europe around the 15th to 16th century but as early as the 10th century Africans had been going into Europe and capturing white people as slaves. Another history tidbit they don’t want you to know the first slave owner in America was another black man Anthony Johnson in 1619 a tobacco farmer from Virginia who was also black went to court to fight for the right to own another black man as a slave.
Hamilton didn’t own slaves, but bought and sold for his family. The only true abolitionist from beginning to end of the major founding fathers were Sam and John Adams
Mr. Abdul-Jabbar is such a renaissance man. A wonderful athlete, author, and historian. I could listen to him for hours.
keep proportions not affirmations
Fly the Betsy Ross high and proudly Nike!
Slavery in any age is wrong thank God we live today and we can have a voice oh it still goes on when you see it don’t be afraid to speak out
The issue of slavery was addressed by the Colonists in drafting by the Declaration of Independence. Of primary importance was to get all 13 Colonies committed to the cause. Pushing the end of slavery would have resulted in the Southern States not declaring Independence. We look at the idea of “no taxation without representation” as being primarily about self governance when the reality is our founding fathers were all wealthy land holders or merchants and the real issue was taxation. For slave holders they would rather pay the taxes than lose the essential underpinning of their economy. Therefore the issue of slavery was tabled in order to maintain unity among the colonies.
Never listen is a huge crybaby like kareem. He cried because he didnt get a statue at staples center. I remember he used to shoot nothing but brinks from the floor.
Perhaps Kareem Abdul Jabbar should school persons CLOSER TO HOME considering his son is accused of brutally stabbing his neighbor over a trashcan! TOLERANCE & patience isn’t exactly something he has instilled in his own children so who is HE to be educating the rest of us about ANYTHING!?!! It starts at HOME people! Teach your kids to be decent human beings and the rest will fall into place!
He was ahead of his time…
Do not tear down any statues from America’s past because if you keep bringing up slavery which is so irrelevant today the statues must go back. People of European descent must stand up for their heritage and not bow down to people of color. Racism isn’t a one way street it’s a two boulevard.
The truth is out there
hamilton did not own slaves, but helpped his in laws get slaves, which is bad. he was personal, deep down hated slavery, which is true. he made a friend with a black slave name ajax, which was his mother gave him. he married and made friends who own slaves. almost everyone had slaves. few didn’t. i don’t believe hamilton brought and own them, since he was the person who was bad with money. a college friend who was great with saving money, and don’t like spending too much. seen it all from hamilton.

Why is there a basketball player speaking on this?
America doesn’t have a perfect past but it’s a lot better now besides the excessive taxes, all the BS regulations and laws and the leftists
Well I know this gentleman is a smart man, and I’m sure he’s more than aware the original slave seller’s were Muslims in Africa. You changed your name to avoid the draft? I thought you changed religions? If the first, maybe you might want to think about changing it back?
I mean he’s correct in all he said here , just wonder why he doesn’t speak or seem to get involved in what’s goin on in Africa now with the child armies ? I mean it’s not history it’s currently happening rn.
Mr. Bill Russell needs a video all to himself.
Thomas Paine was an abolitionist and socialist to the point of extremism.
Why am I supposed to care about a basketball player’s opinion on this subject? lmao
Kareem is one of my favorite living Americans, far beyond my being a fan of basketball, but as a thoughtful historian and public figure, he represents the part of being an American that I’m proud of.
Hamilton could have been King & Should have ran for president. Washington totally should have been king
The position of president was originally created to be a lifetime, close to a Prime Ministers are today
It would have been so much better we were constitutional monarchy or remain a Aristocratic Republic
George Washington and Alexander Hamilton ARE BLACK 🖤 Blessings and Hugs 💖💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕!
Kareem is wrong …John Adams , Benjamin Rush , Franklin , and many others worked to end slavery. Adams was more against slavery than Hamilton. Plus, Jefferson , though he owned slaves , tried repeatedly early on to end the trade. Washington, in many instances worked behind the scenes to try and end slavery. The 1787 Ordinance was created with slavery never being allowed in those parts. Many Founders also believed the institution would die out , which unfortunately they were wrong.
As a descendent of Mr. Hamilton, I can tell if he was mixed race or not. What I can tell you is I am 2% sub-Saharan African and separated by five generations.
I think someone needs to remind Kareem that African-Americans did own slaves. An not all of them were nice to their slaves
I love black patriots is a good documentary about black people in the American revolution
