I have a starsense explor­er DX 130AZ. I want to see it more clear­ly. But i want know if i can use the Barolow lens

if you buy any star sense scopes PT Bar­num is look­ing for you!, they are replac­ing the com­put­er with YOUR cell phone. but the price is the same as it would have been, had it real­ly came with a com­put­er. hope you don’t mind pay­ing 500 dol­lars more, than a reg­u­lar cele­stron pow­er seek­er 114mm. btw bad focus is prob­a­bly caused by spher­i­cal aber­ra­tion, as they use these mir­rors instead of a more expen­sive par­a­bol­ic mirror!.

I sneer at smart­phone fetishism and screens every­where but if that’s what it takes to get mil­len­ni­als and zoomers into astron­o­my, great. Bra­vo Celestron!

The app con­fused me I need help how to use it and how to find stuff.

Nice review. I’m not sure that the app ever sinks with the tele­scope as you said. I think you align your phone to the tele­scope, then your phone takes pic­tures which the app can ‘plate-match’ to its data­base of the night-sky and hence know where your [aligned] scope must be point­ing. Sounds like the app had trou­ble inter­pret­ing the pic­tures your phone took. I would be inter­est­ing to know if there are any rec­om­mend­ed phone-cam­era set­tings. E.g. pre­sum­able your phone needs to be focused on infi­in­i­ty for most objects.

I have the newest iPhone pro Max I’m assum­ing I’m in good graces with the phone’s cam­era in regards to this telescope ?

did you ensure they were both col­i­mat­ed before use?

btw, not all tele­scopes have an upside down image — only reflec­tors do. Refrac­tors and CAT scopes have a reversed (mir­ror image) right side up. 

So the Cele­stron StarSense Explor­er DX 102AZ Refrac­tor will have a right side up mir­ror image. It will not be upside down.
