I believe that EVP’s are an audio ver­sion of Parei­do­lia. When a loved one pass­es away, those who loved the deceased per­son will reach for any­thing that will con­tin­ue the link that they once had with the per­son who is no longer in their lives as a phys­i­cal form. I under­stand the long­ing desire that is cre­at­ed by the absence of a loved one. My father passed away last sum­mer a week after Father’s Day, and there are so many regrets that I feel about our rela­tion­ship and how much time I wast­ed while I was serv­ing in the U.S Army, and after. I can’t make up for time spent away from Dad, how­ev­er, I’ll not dis­turb him while he is, final­ly, at rest. My advice for the mourn­ers, is; be care­ful. You don’t know who it is who is speak­ing to you in the form of your depart­ed loved one, and what “it” is capa­ble of encour­ag­ing you to do to recon­nect to your loved one.
