Touch ID can return to iPhone 12 (thanks iPad Air)

Tak­ing my 12 back today for an SE.

I won­dered about that. I won­dered what would hap­pen with Face ID if you gained or lost weight. Does that mean you couldn’t open your phone if you gained or lost weight? 

Fin­ger prints are the most con­sis­tent since they don’t change. I use the iPad Air 4 and the fin­ger print read­er works flawlessly. 

Don’t see how any oth­er method could unlock a phone as fast as my iPad unlocks with my finger.

I’ve nev­er had prob­lems with it I don’t even have to look direct­ly at the cam­rea or hold it up to my face

Final­ly some­one that is talk­ing sense on these stu­pid iPhone
It’s called redun­dan­cy Apple engi­neers… Redun­dan­cy! Now how nice would it be to be able to have touch ID and two ports on the bot­tom!!! One to charge your phone and the oth­er For what­ev­er I damn well please!!!
Oh maybe you’re trav­el­ing and your iPods ran out of bat­tery at the air­port and your back up is your wired buds… oh and you got a charg­er iPhone and use the phone as well… Two ports to come in quite handy don’t you think!?! Come on Apple engi­neers think about it … That would make for an excel­lent iPhone… Touch ID and two ports on the bottom

Idea: What if we make the apple logo designed on the back use­ful by turn­ing into a fin­ger­print sen­sor for Touch ID 🧐

Fin­ger­print on the pow­er but­ton on a phone is not a good idea. Might be ok for an iPad but not a phone. Look at the phys­i­cal change on how you would have to hold the phone to hov­er over a pay­ing device at the reg­is­ter. Put it back on the bloody bot­tom of the phone like before. How hard is it Apple???? I was about to upgrade but not now. Stick­ing with my iPhone 8 till they bring the print back!!!!
I will bet a full pay that if Apple bring back touch ID, they’ll put it on the Pow­er But­ton. Guar­an­teed!! It needs to go under the screen at the bot­tom where the Home But­ton use to be.

Well I have an iPhone 12 and the touch pass­code is NOT avail­able! I hate it…hopefully maybe they will devel­op some soft­ware down­load to get it back!

i dropped my phone and that fall crushed my vol­ume button„,so its no brain­er if Apple put the touch id on the side of a phone„as it is vulnerable„why not place the touch id on screen„like any oth­er android phone„sigh

Yer annoy­ing the con­straints, and offered capa­bil­i­ties, some­times suck on new mod­els, iphone SE pret­ty much died because the bat­tery just gave up, sad my iPhone 3 lived longer than the SE, so I was forced to get the mini, i don’t know why, no home but­ton sucks, or no thumb print, is soo crap, and it’s annoy­ing the way the cam­era is essen­tial­ly always open, idk why I I got anoth­er iPhone, I might trade for some­thing else now, phone man­u­fac­tur­ers assume a lot now days

Not putting the touch ID pow­er but­ton on the new iPhones was a mis­take. We could’ve had a screen with clean mar­gins and more real estate. Touch ID is way eas­i­er when using Apple Pay, and like you said I might as well take out my card and swipe if I’m going to have hold my phone up to my face before I pay.
