OUR RING DOORBELL HAS NEVER WORKED!
Our Ring Doorbell has never worked properly, from the day we had it fitted with all the cameras, by the professional team at Currys PC World, to this day 5 years later! I have called and called their Customer Support Team and have had one excuse after another… so we have bought other add ons, such as the solar panel at a cost to ourselves and had new batteries sent to us for free by Ring customer service, we have spent hours messing about on the phone with their Tech team with the app, altering the settings and re-setting the device… but it has never worked for longer than a day or two without runing out of battery, so we could use it when we go away … basically how they advertise it to be on TV! We first noticed when our neighbors popped round, as they had pressed the doorbell, expecting it to work, but it didn’t. I explained all of the problems we had been having with it, so we naturally compared ours to theirs, as they had recently bought the same Ring doorbell and said theirs worked perfectly!
So after being stalled and stalled by the customer service staff and sent new batteries and buying add ons… etc… to try to make the stupid thing work, we forgot about it… and just got on with our lives without the Ring doorbell! But every now and then, it would bug me that we spent all this money on a glorified doorbell that had NEVER worked, when a normal doorbell would just let us know when people were there… waiting at the door, so I put our normal doorbell back up out front with a sign saying that one didn’t work!
So I called again this morning, so see if ANYONE could shed any light on it… fix it or just help me get this stupid thing working…. and I was told this morning (FIVE YEARS LATER!!!)…that: “Its probably a hardware issue and we would need to replace the whole thing” … but naturally as its taken sooooooooo long to get to this point after hours and months and years of disappointment… there’s nothing they could do to fix it as it as its now out of warranty!
“However …I will send you a discount code so you can buy another one with some discount!!
When I asked the customer service agent WHY on gods green earth I would EVER want to buy another one, when this one had never worked? His answer was “ I guarantee this next one will work madam, you just had faulty hardware”
…So HOW can you guarantee THIS next one wouldn’t be faulty? Totally mental conversations… wastnig literally years of my life trying to fix this thing that I was told this morning, could just be a faulty one!
SO WHY DIDNT THEY SAY THIS EARLIER??????
So Frustrating and a ridiculous guarantee when I was just hoping it would have worked the first time… like when we originally bought it!
I will not waste any more time, energy or money on this product!!! I really feel like the CS staff just postponed my complaints and asked me to wait whilst they sent me batteries and then to wait to see if they worked… was all a rouse’ to make it out of warranty so they didnt have to send me another one!
I know my neighbours works… but Im not going to chance it…
TOTAL WASTE OF TIME DONT BUY IT!
just wasted 2mins of my life
I have a YI home camera for inside. And then the RING doorbell system for outside. only reason why I have these, if you ever been through a traumatic break in like my family and I did when I lived in Florida and maryland… these are worth it. one experience all it takes, better safe then sorry. I love these. never again where I will live somewhere without inside security and outside.
So does it just sit on the wall bracket? Or Do you take it off the wall altogether for charging . I’m getting someone else to install so you know
You made feel a bit confused 🤔
Yeah, that whole law enforcement thing needs a video, if you haven’t already made one, that is. WA State over here. The RCWs are just… Clear as mud for apartment dwellers whose doors face the doors of other apartment dwellers. Not sure if I should buy this or not.
Doesn’t want to detect motion
I think I’ll just stick with the $35 trail camera which I have mounted up high pointing down in the porch area
Do not buy this rubbish, it is totally unreliable, it stops streaming for no reason, then you have to set the whole system up again from scratch, wifi password for chime pro and repeat for doorbell. If you really need CCTV, buy a proper camera, then you won’t have these problems.
This guy is such an annoying reviewer…
I am new to this and am in the UK. Is it a one off payment of is it some kind of subscrription.
I’ll pass .….…..good video
I got it for 50 bucks on amazon
Why do Americans make silly words up
Yeah amazing. My backdoor runs out of battery within a week and the front connects around every tenth attempt. Brilliant purchase. Highly recommend.
Is there any other doorbell cameras like this but not from Amazon.
I dont want my footage been sent to police or stored without my consent.
Need a company that doesnt do this
I live in a tiny 1 bed apartment. I have 2 cameras, 1 at the front door and 1 by my balcony. These things go offline all the time. I have a wifi router with 4 giant antenna and its mounted on the wall in the center of my apartment. I find it hilarious that I can connect to all my neighbors wifi (if I had their passwords) but these doorbells loose wifi signal all the time. Video not found, or offline constantly. It’s not my router, its the garbage receiver in these things that can’t stay connected.
If their premium plan came with an option to connect 5g network, these things would be perfect. But the fact they use wifi, just annoys me. We need to get rid of wifi, it sucks, we all have unlimited data plans, its time to get all the devices off wifi and on 5g. It is a superior network. 5g is 100 times better then cable internet, and it’s wireless. We need to ditch this crap tech that never worked in the first place.
Didn’t even ring the bell once the whole interview video. Where the f… does it ring inside
Do we need to get a Ring chime with this doorbell ? Or does it work with the one installed at home usually
❤
what phone is that?
Does it work with the existing chime in house
This guy is terrible at reviewing products. Trying way to hard to be funny.
Which ring chime is compatible!
Ring is garbage
Do you have to get the subscription?
Ring is junk and their service department is no better. I will never purchase another one. THEY are JUNK. Save your money.
Downvoted because this video assumes you’re already familiar with the Ring Doorbell, which makes this review incomplete.
Get the ring battery
Talk to much said nothing
So you can’t rewind the feed and see past footage? So I can’t check the feed on my phone and rewind over an hour to see if anyone has been to my door without ringing?
Stop trying to be funny, you look like a fool.
I would’ve liked to have seen it in action to help me decide whether to purchase it.
