In “Life After People,” scientists, structural engineers, and other experts speculate about what might become of Earth should humanity instantly disappear, from the fate of structures like the Sears Tower and the Sistine Chapel to the creatures that might inherit the places we once lived.

New york after people
Interesting how they managed to not once include mention nor sight of the WTC towers…
“Pack or houses”? You meant to say hoard didn’t you. Just saying. Great work otherwise.
If humans disappeared, gold would have no value at all. If animals remained, it would mean nothing to them. They can’t eat or drink it, so it would be ignored by them.
Man that camera man was so brave to go into the future like that just so he could film this for people to watch. Great video by the way!
15:09 and 39:28 im a Missourian and im glad that the arch lasted longer than the empire state building and the chrysler building
I’ve always wondered what earth would look like from space after us 1000 years from now with all the ruins and greenery with vegetation. Bet earth wouldn’t be recognizable and beautiful.
Since this series only lasted for only 2 seasons, I can only imagine that a few of the skyscrapers in NYC built since 2010 might last longer than both the Empire State and Chrysler in a life after people.
The thinnest skyscrapers (111 West 57th, the Central Park Tower, 432 Park Avenue, 53W53, etc.) unfortunately might collapse first before the Empire State and Chrysler, 150–175 years after people.
250 years after people will see the collapse of One Vanderbilt, and 300 years sees the collapse of both Hudson Yards and Manhattan West.
350 years AP, One World Trade Center could collapse due to high winds brought on by a hurricane, having outlived most of NYC’s biggest skyscrapers.
At least that’s just my best guess.
This show makes human existence look like an exercise in futility. I’ll never get out of bed again. 😉
That billboard powered by solar panels and wind turbines. I think it doesn’t exist anymore =/
Shout out to the cameraman
I watched this show when it first came out and I have always been a nerd and I wondered what the planet would be like if that happened. This show left everyone to the imagination. It is truly awesome and amazing
20:12 Yay!!!!!!!
23:38 if things fall down and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound? (Obviously, it does)
I love this type of stuff. Man thinks he is invincible even though we’ve only been on earth for a very short time. Earth has been in existence for billions of years and man has been here for only a few thousand years, a mere blip in time. We will eventually die out as all things do. When I was in high School I remember reading a book called “the earth abides” ‚it was about this very subject and it fascinated me then and it still does.
is funny that we kow what are consecuences of our accions and still , nothing changes , we deserve it as human been.
what would happen if every one on earth disappeared except for you .
This is like a research paper you slapped together in 3 days because it was going to be late and you had to turn something in.
Times Square is like the library when you compare it to Arrowhead Stadium on any given Sunday!! At full volume we’re 142.2 decibels!!
waring in rust dust 6kcxa1$lcta👌
Oh, I don’t know? I imagine Manhattan (NYC) being a post-apocalypic Venice with everything below the 12th floor under water and bridges connecting one building to another.
The changes described in the clip will not happen all at once. 1to200 years
The Gold will last 10 to the 40th to 10 to the 1000th years depending on physics.
37:58 not much of a skyline…💀
Does anyone else hear the first part of the Wilhelm Scream as they put the card up that says how long after people?
Decided to watch this again after staring at the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes poster, which movie takes place 300 years after people (or people’s civilization). I don’t think the poster is accurate. First to go would be the yellow-painted lines on the road.
great video, but every single advertisement is for some pharma drug lol
I feel for pets, if people just disappeared
Gotta admire how the cameraman puts his life on the line, to stand underneath falling buildings…yeah buddy! lol
17:25
you got that backwards jack
This show always gave me hope. Our damages is not permanent. Earth can fix our mistakes
So you’re saying nothing bad will happen. What some beer will be released, a stupid sign might stop working. The insanely dirty subway will flood. Plants and animals will come back to ugly cities. So you’re saying only good will come from humanity’s extinction? Good to know.
Very interesting. Also, I thought he was Anthony Hopkins for most of video.
Dinosaurs 🦖 are extinct are ready
I laughed when that billboard had the workaround of being able to produce its own electricity, but then still went out because of the lightbulbs 😅.
Is it just me or is rene B. Testa the best name for an engineer
Why are some of the episodes missing from the playlist?
Who else sees it happening now? 24′ 😮
Who cares😮
Gives me “Last Of Us” vibes!

What was the East Coast power outage caused by?
geez i dont think something like day 1 would happen unless we had to go on lockdown for a virus or something
How would long smaller well-built very tall high rises/small skyscrapers around 330 to 490 feet last?
