Hey guys, I couldn’t be happier to tear apart these keyboards in front of y’all and give my honest opinion on them, but I’m running out of keyboards! So let me know which ones I should look at next. 🙂
Just get a Razer huntsman mini
Its better
Can you change the Light Settings, or is it just one Setting?🤔
Better than the k63?
How do I put it in bios mode for ps4
I like the twang the keyboard makes let’s me know I’m abusing the keyboard
Caught my attention when you mentioned civic😂😂
I purchased one and I have to say it would be nicer if they made the keys more like the K70, a little wider. They keys feel a little high and too close together. They feel nice, but some times my palm will hit the right CTRL key by accident while typing due to the hight of the keys. This activates an unwelcomed function command while typing that completely stops me from finishing my sentence. If you have smaller hands, you might like it. However, I’m going to order the K60 Pro Low Profile for comparison and see if the lower hight of the keys help with accidental key commands.
Honda Civic. I hope I don’t heat someone the keyboard at 3am
Why review it when ur gonna talk bad about it
Anyone else just thinks this review is very trash and clearly biased.
Just got this keyboard, feels great typing no complaints. Improvement over the k68 i had.
Uh my Ctrl key cap broke somehow
I’m buying this as someone who is using a Microsoft membrane key board that is like 20$
sounds like a membrane ngl
Any long term review for this
I wish the echo wasnt there
Are the switches hot swappable?
i didn’t realize i press my keys like a crazy person because i just got this keyboard and i feel like i am fighting with it!
I love viola switches, their sooo smooooooth
Ive had the k60 for a while and some of my number keys on the 4th row are finiky. I press one number key and insted of one number on screen it gives me 3 of the same number. I dont know if the switch is going out or the spring has lost tention.
my Dad has a Honda Civic 🙂
I actually really like my K60. I tend to type loudly and bang on the space bar, so the weight is a non-issue for me. The typing experience is really pleasant and I actually prefer to use it when I’m going to be writing for several hours at a time. Gaming with it is nothing to write home about, but the RGB is perty.
I got one for 35 bucks at Walmart.
I really wish CNET would do a review on the reason their Metacritic scores are the exact INVERSE of actual user scores.…..that would be something lol. Ahhhh wishful thinking.… like wishing a Congressional panel would bring an Ubisoft/EA exec in front of them for a laundry list of bad practices…mehhh I digress.
K70 is often $89 with the low profile switches. Sounds like it’s worth the few extra bucks over this.
I love the K60.
My first mechanical keyboard. I got the low profile switches and they are awesome, I’m even more happy since not everyone seems to be happy with the viola switches (but when I was buying the keyboard it was a 50/50 for me)
The only thing I’m missing from my K55 in terms of function are media keys and maybe macro keys, but I’m planning to get a steamdeck to get those functions anyway without having a huge keyboard on my desk.
Great review, although I would’ve hoped you included the low-profile one too, since my experience with that is different to your kinda negative experience with the viola switches. Greetings 🙂
by this review id rather keep typing on my k120 which already destroys my fingers LOL. it has the EXACT corner issue at the keys you mentioned. im so lost man. i dont have the money or knowledge to make a custom at all, and the model i was thinking of buying (k70 low profile) is described as too flat by some. however looking at mechs they look so damn tall. i think i tested one (i was told it was mx blue) and it felt really awkward. like i had to go extra further to get my keystrokes registered. when i decided to fully bottom out itd be a bet, 50/50 to get the key registered or not
My k60 has a weird boingy metal spring sound along with the clicking, is it broken?
my is making squeaking nosies how can i open the keycap
I baught it for 25$ because my Walmart was remodeling and had electronics on clearance lol
I like my K60 for gaming but for typing not so much. The clicking of the keys just feels dead and I always seem to bump keys I don’t mean too. I mean I’m not the greatest typist ever but this thing makes it harder forsure.
For 70 you get the Chinese Sharkoon with either Red/Brown or Blue switches. Mine just arrived and can’t believe how good it is. Never again 150$ for a keyboard.
very bad feeling about cherry viola switch experience„ don’t buy it for Gaming…
why he saying corsair like that
I wonder if there are people who search this keyboard on YouTube before buying and after doing that still buy it.
I’ve had the keyboard with VIOLA switches for a while and let me give my opinion on it.
REGARDING THE SMOOTHNESS OF THE SWITCHES: When I was looking for the red switches I wanted linearity and low actuation force. Unfortunately CORSAIR manages very high prices for keyboards with RED switches, so when I saw this new VIOLA at a low price (well… not at all low really) and that is very similar to the RED ones, I was very excited, BUT it happens that Although the actuation force for the VIOLA is 45 g (the same as the RED) it is only for its first stroke because after the first two millimeters the force rises to 75 g which is high (especially for those of us who are used to do all the travel of the switch). CONCLUSION: It is not a soft switch. It is HARD and generates tiredness after a while of use.
REGARDING THE SPACING BETWEEN KEYCAPS: WHEN KEYCAPS have a low profile, the spacing distances between key and key (note, I am not talking about the distance between key and key but the distance that separates one key from the other or between key and key ) are decreased so you are more likely to accidentally press the key next to it. It took me a long time to get used to this. (In particular, I have been changing many of the KEYCAPS for those of another keyboard that I have that are high profile to try to improve the user experience a bit). CONCLUSION: This keyboard is more prone to typing error
REGARDING THE PRICE OF THE KEYBOARD: the price of this keyboard is more than 400,000 Colombian pesos (about 85 USD). Other keyboards on the market come ready with CHERRY MX RED switches and cost even less. The reality is that from my point of view the cost / benefit ratio in the acquisition of this keyboard (CORSAIR K60 PRO with VIOLA switches) is not satisfactory. I have consulted about this type of switches and I think they have not been used in other keyboards on the market (at least for my country) and… it must be for a reason, right?
REGARDING THE SOUND OF THE SWITCHES: Although it is true that they are quieter than the Browns and the blues (similar to the RED) during typing with the VIOLA a clamp sound like a BELL is felt at the end of the run which is quite annoying.
REGARDING QUALITY: (without taking into account the large number of negative comments on the networks about the double fingerings for some keys with these switches, some switches that have only been used for a few days and no longer work, etc.). Particularly on my keyboard the spacebar switch stopped working intermittently and I had to exchange it with the ScrLk switch because I couldn’t know where to find replacements for these switches.
In accordance with the above, I consider that THE PURCHASE of this keyboard with VIOLA switches IS NOT JUSTIFIED (especially if you are going to use it largely for typing / programming / developing for whose applications the fatigue in the fingers after long days feels enough already).
Several days ago I contacted the CORSAIR brand to express my dissatisfaction with the product and my request to exchange for another keyboard that does not have this type of switches, but they have not yet responded) When you go from a membrane keyboard to a mechanical keyboard and you use this K60 with VIOLA switches the experience is certainly pleasant. Captivates the RGB and a bit the pseudo smoothness that these switches offer. But for those of us who have already worked with other mechanical keyboards with MX RED switches, or other types such as BROWN, BLUE of any brand, we realize that buying this K60 model is a very bad decision. And when I say “this K60 model” I mean that after this model, CORSAIR brought it out again, but not with the same type of VIOLA switches, but with low Profile and other accessories such as the wrist rest (actually, I haven’t Couldn’t find another keyboard in the world that has VIOLA switches on it, plus you can’t get replacements). Obviously they were aware of the error and tried to correct it, but those of us who did not consult less accurate reviews of the keyboard and more objective reviews made the mistake of acquiring it. Mine, for example, I have in a fight so they can change it. When I complained about the dissatisfaction in the user experience (it cannot be that a key has to be pressed with 75 grams for the total travel) the switches had not begun to fail. But now one switch doesn’t work and another one is repeating the fingering.
The experience with this keyboard is really depressing!
Mr. CHERRY: could you help me? I know that there have not been keyboards with this type of switch again, except for those that have been manufactured since 2020.
im pretty sure thats not how you pronounce “viola”…
i managed to find mine on sale for $30! cant complain at all
Just now plugged in a new K60 and I like the feel of the switches. No clicky sounds and smooth linear action.
I just got my K60 RGB Pro today. Am using it now. Really liking the quiet linear action.
I’ve been using a GMMK Glorious Full Size, having Gateron brown switches for years. I don’t do games. Recently bought a K60 and I really like the linear switches in it. The design lets a lot of light to flood out below the caps. Why can’t the mfr publish detailed info about using the thing? I want to be able to set the color of each individual switch, don’t know if that’s possible, so I’m going to have to watch every YT vid there is to see if anyone talks about it.
After a few days of using the K60 I felt the typing experience was awful and retired it back to its box. I must’ve been high on something when I bought 2 of these at once. The 2nd one remains in its unopened box. The Glorious Full Size is imo perfect. I’ve got 4 of ’em.
Best keyboard i ever got 🙂
IDK a damn thing about mechanical keyboards for gaming or typing. My plain keyboard died, and the K60 was on sale for $35. I didn’t hesitate for a second.
Where could i buy keyvaps for my K6 rgbb pro keyboard?
Calling holding down a button excruciating is just… Sad… Maybe be a little less dramatic or start working on grip strength because that’s absurd
