Why on earth did they think this guy was the kidnapper? I always thought that the ones asking for the elevated amount were just scammers trying to cash in on the crime. They didn’t tell us any proof that this guy had the kid, they could only prove he had the bills. I would like to see the proof of having the kid.
Charles Sr. Played a prank abducting the baby. He accidentally dropped the baby killing him. A sad practical joke that went wrong. He disliked his son because he had deformities of the head and feet. Lindbergh was a follower of Eugenics.

How is this one of history’s mysteries? They caught the guy in due time, tried him, and executed him! (And yes, he did it!) So where’s the historical mystery?
Are you kidding me with this? It was clear that he did not act alone… and it was clear that he was not smart enough to organise those many meetings with the Dr. Someone carefully planned this and he was just a pawn in it. That someone is the real killer. I sometimes thinks that this German man did not do it at all, as he claimed his innocense till the very moment he was executed. Normally, even the hardest criminals confess, but he had nothing to say. So, the real mystery was NOT solved at all.

hauptman was clearly involved, probably the kidnapper. The evidence speaks for itself.

So many questions like how did the kidnapper know exactly where the baby slept it sounds like a inside job the man accused denied he took and killed the baby he was offered life in prison if he’d just confess he never did and got the electric chair saying his business partner owed him money so that’s how he ended up with the marked money. If the ladder was broken was the child dropped as the kidnapper escaped the child was found 6 months or 6 weeks later less than 5 miles from the Lindbergh home.
So many conspiracy’s behind this child’s murder it just makes you wonder because a lot of people got rich writing these conspiracy books.
