Expensive to manufacture, especially in volume. Awkward in a fight. Stabbing is unnatural. Every slash is a gamble of twists and deflection. Too heavy for extended battles. On the other hand, it’s pretty in a perverse way. I suspect it honored a potent god.
I’m writing a story where a character wields a khopesh. Definitely gonna be inspired by Salem’s design.
I love khopesh swords, I like all swords like katanas, medieval swords or khopesh
I think it would have been really cool to have them make it from bronze. However I understand why they didnt do it. It would not compare well to other swords and it really wouldnt show off the skills of a smith that isnt used to bronze
Just nerds being nerdy and I love it
Salem got shafted in the rope cut. If you look marcaida’s edge alignment was way off. Its a sword doug. Not a ball bat. Now go sit in the corner with your karambits and think about what you’ve done. Then maybe you can play with a real man’s blade and not that glorified boxcutter you seem so fond of.😑
“them Egyptian man”. are better than your white head
I seen that weapon in the mummy movies
Anyone know the movie at 0:31
I need the movie at 0:31
To the person who gave all and failed. Please feel free to talk to me. I have seen your comment at the end. I feel you brother and im here talk. I too need a help. So brothers of the show. Unite.
egypt is old more than 7000 years
10:10 Jesus, dude.
Does anyone else find it bizarre that Doug continually uses one handed weapons in two hands? Or that both the “khopesh” on display here were massively oversized and far to straight?
I love the khopesh, it’s a very interesting looking and effective blade. Also a huge fan of the kopis.
Some of the things that Craig says are just WILD. Lol
“The capice knife”
“Yippie”
“The tink fairy”
Dang Egyptians puttin on dresses!
This weapon was never made from steel. So .….
Maybe you should know that there are also sickle weapons in Indonesia and they are no less exotic. These weapons are called clurit and calok and these two weapons are also divided into various types. These two weapons are usually used in duels called carok by the Madurese tribe
The khopesh was made by bronze and not iron. It was not dual welded like the one in the cinematic intro. The winner khopesh was more similar to a swird than to an actual khop… American historic ignorance is amazing 🫣😭
