HISTORY goes to the ends of the earth to find where our world began. Forged from fire and ice, formed by floods, volcanoes, asteroids and earthquakes, our planet tells a dynamic geological story. What are mega-tsunamis? What happens when you have millions of years of rain? Visual effects, location filming and stunning aerial photography bring viewers back 4.5 billion years to enjoy a unique window on our world. How the Earth Was Made peels back time like layers of rock to reveal the origins of the place we call home.

Cool.
Appalachian is older. Rose up much more level.
Why did you watch this ?
do all these insane christians in the comments have nothing better to do than find science videos and complain about how they’re leading people into the arms of satan or whatever? stop prosletysing, go touch some grass, and volunteer somewhere like a local soup kitchen, food pantry, humane society, whatever. at least that’s worthwhile and actually helpful
Da Vinci was a true genius!
Da Vinci was beyond his time for sure…
Africa is moving to crash into Europe again; the Mediterranean will close and more huge mountains will form. Wonder why it wasn’t mentioned.
They failed to show the dangers of what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps.
Question.…. alps created when Africa smashed into Europe. So???? What happened to the land formation when Africa and Europe separated. Mediterranean sea was formed, but what happened to the land???
41:03 Hold Up there a minute Boss, don’t be rewriting history, that’s irresponsible of you. Hannibal didn’t just lose troops falling off the mountain paths he used to cross the Alps, he lost a significant number to the exposure of the cold because they weren’t experienced or equipped to deal with it. If I also remember correctly, when Roman Forces recovered, they destroyed Carthage, like the Ancient Version of wiping them tf off the map. It’s not so bad and was so thorough that archeologists are still getting the business by SPQR.
Hi, thanks ..you are also beautiful for thinking we should read
The history of the Matterhorn was quite trippy!
It seems to me that somebody would be willing to go in and take that oil for free rather than go through the drilling in pumping process that got it into the ship in the first place.

There is gold in that fault line, that alluvial fan, valleys, glaciers, there is gold all over that place. I saw it in the hanging wall crack under the magnification. They need to mine all that Gold and get paid. The Matterhorn might be worth trillions in African AU, good gold.
Thank you for the amazing history of how the earth was made I enjoyed watching and learning the wonderful history of the earth.
And to this day we still walk amongst the giants The autobots deceptivcons the darths vaders of the pass. Maybe he was Luke’s father
I saw a program that discovered that the forming of the alps helped create the ice age by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide lowering earth’s temperature .
This is one of History’s best series. Just ignore the Tabloid style video titles. For example, this episode was dubbed, “The Alps”, by its creators. Not, “The Dynamic and Dangerous Alps”.
Can someone answer for me with the Alps sandwich oceanic crust? I always thought since it (oceanic) was denser it would sink below the continental crust?
Entropy.
I had learned from other geological videos that oceanic floor is denser than continental crust and therefore cannot rise over it. So, I still don’t understand the geology of the Matterhorn.
Getting warmer.
Simply breathtaking beauty of God!!❤
Sad those mountains are actually trees!!!!!!! This video is a lie
